GPS (GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM)

ABSTRACT:
In this paper, some of the ideas of navigating and positioning has been possible by using GPS (Global Positioning System). This paper provides the use of enclosing the GPS receiver in the different areas of precise positioning, locating the maps, navigating across the mapped locations very easily. The purpose of this paper is to exhibit the actuality that incurred in designing a position and navigation system, which can be used as a dynamic compass, driving to any mapped destination, providing the data about places which are near our location, tourist attractions, petrol pumps etc. As the GPS technology introduced it makes possibility of tracking user location on the earth in the form Longitude, Latitude, Altitude etc. Using the set of 24-32 satellite in the orbit and base …show more content…

As said in the definition above, GPS stands for Global Positioning System, and this system begun at the 1970s by U.S Defense Department which concurrently maintains the system and navigates the required data to U.S Defense. GPS offers basically two different level of service which are SPS (Standard Positioning Service) for civilians and other is PPS (Precise Positioning Service) for military with high level of encryption of data. The GPS is a combination of 24 satellites which orbits about 12000 miles above the earth, and there are 5 stations to keep monitoring and manage the satellite circumstances. The satellites transmit very low radio signals, allowing anyone with a GPS receiver to determine the respective person location on earth This remarkable system was too costly to build, costing the U.S. billions of dollars on going maintenance, with the launch of replacement satellites, adds the cost of the system. GPS actually guides the introduction of the personal
