In the book “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, Ebenezer Scrooge was a miserable, selfish, lonely person. He had no friends and was cold hearted man and only cared about work and money. For example, Scrooge was a squeezing wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching old sinner(2-3). Ebenezer Scrooge seemed like he would be a bad human bad forever, but somehow with the help with the three ghosts the ghost of the past, present, and future, Scrooge was able to see how terrible he was and how he can change his ways in life to become a better person.

In the Christmas Carol, Ebeneezer Scrooge had always hated Christmas. He was never happy, he would always argue about something. Until one night that changed everything including his emotions, feelings, and life. He became a very sweet old man. Scrooge is officially an old man that loves Christmas.

In the book A Christmas Carol Scrooge was mean at the beginning but as the book kept going he was visited by 3 ghost and by the end Scrooge is no longer mean to people. In stave 1 Scrooge rejected the poorly men for donations and after he did that he felt good about it.
After the Ghosts of Past, Present and Future visited, it is evident that their teachings educated Scrooge, like a hammer recreating a crocked sword on an anvil. The novel described the ghosts thoroughly, using words to visualize and help us fantasize what the spirits are and how they change Scrooge. For example The Ghost of Past took advantage of Scrooge's remorse, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come used Scrooge's fear. And it is this process that helped us fully understand why did Scrooge become a helpful angel after his visits. For example during the last ghost's visit, the women and men's thievery disgusted Scrooge and he worried about who the rich man was, and the ghost wasn't depicted as a evil fellow but as a helpful teacher.
Change was undeniably necessary for the grumpiest man on the planet: Ebenezer Scrooge. Change was needed in multiple ways in the story A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. Scrooge is introduced to us in his office, where he is seen being quite rude to his employee Cratchit. Scrooge’s nephew arrives at his office and tries to wish Scrooge a Merry Christmas but Scrooge simply dispels him by saying good afternoon.

Charles Dickens’ novel “A Christmas Carol” shows the main character Scrooge as being haunted by three spirits on Christmas Eve. Dickens presents these supernatural entities with historic appearances, which have a strong reflection on the character and development of Scrooge. This is often overlooked on first read. The first example of this is the appearance of The Ghost of Christmas Past, which is used by Dickens to physicalize the mentality of Scrooge. The spirit is described as “like a child” and represents the child that is still inside him; It is his childhood that caused him to hate the festive season and he still holds the grudge, that being “a lonely boy” during Christmas set.
Does doing one good thing make up for all the bad things a person has done? No, it does not. Scrooge is a cruel and grumpy old man from “A Christmas Carol” written by Charles Dickens. He is not sympathetic. However, some people say that he is because he changed in the end, but doing one good thing does not make up for all the bad things a person has done and Scrooge was mean and cruel for the majority of his life.
When reading Charles Dickens stories one can feel as though they belonged in the story itself. The reader is able to establish connections with the characters that come forth in the story. There are many characters in Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol that the reader develops a bond. Dickens uses a creative technique to pull in the reader that it is astonishing how he changes the readers’ view of the main character. Although Scrooge was terrible man at the start of the story, he eventually grew on the reader as the story progressed.
“Am I that man who lay upon the bed?” he cried, upon his knees.’ (p.79) However realizing that he was the man there was the final push that Scrooge needed to realize what he was doing and how he was living his life needed to be changed for better. If it weren’t for the Ghost of Christmas future, showing him the future that he'd have if he didn't change, it's highly likely that Scrooge would have eventually fallen back into old habits despite the other spirits’

The story, “A Christmas Carol”, is about a cold-hearted man named Scrooge who transforms himself into a jolly, kind man when three Ghosts teach Scrooge about the spirit of Christmas. In the story, Charles Dickens illustrates the theme of how no one is past redemption through the transformation of Scrooge’s personality by the lessons of the Spirits. At the beginning of the story, Scrooge’s selfish personality is revealed, and the Ghost of Christmas Past comes and shows him the memories and truth of his life long ago.
Similarities and Differences of the Play and Movie A Christmas Carol Greed is a trait nobody should have and one man’s life was ruined by it. “Bah Humbug!”is a famous quote from the astounding play, A Christmas Carol the story of a rich, old, mean man named Ebenezer Scrooge whose life was turned around. The play was later copied in a movie in 1984 and the movie shows many similarities and differences to the play. Most of the similarities and differences appear when the three ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future visit him and change his life for the better.
