Identity defines who you are, and makes up a huge part of your life. Many factor play a part in your identity- the main one being culture. Right at birth children are given the culture that thier parents follow... In Diana Chang's poem "Saying Yes", discribes how her culture is both Chinse-from her parents-and American-from where she was brought up . For that reason her identity is also both Chinese and American. Diana's view of culture affecting identity is different from how culture effect identity in the memoir "Night" by Elies Weisel, similar to myself and also similar to society.

In the memoir "Night", Culture plays a huge role in Elizer's life. HE is solely focused on gain knowledge of about his culture and through that reach peace
