The revolts in Virginia were caused by the underrepresentation of the people inwestern Virginia who were dealing with Indian attacks. Due to a rising population,Virginia expanded west into lands that were supposed to be Indian territory. Thiscaused there to be Indian raids on the colonists’ plantations. The Virginiagovernment was not doing enough to respond to the problem because the people inthe west were underrepresented in the government. The westerners attacked theIndians on their own and this was taken by the government to be an act of rebellion.These revolts were caused by an unequal balance in the social structure andgovernment. However, Massachusetts shut down their rebellion by calling in their militia. The main cause of this nearly six month rebellion was money. The Massachusetts legislature voted on a heavy land tax. Farmers could not afford to pay these taxes.

This strange historical event began in 1584, during one of the first English expeditions to the New World to establish settlements. The settlers landed on Roanoke Island, off the coast of what is now North Carolina. After only one year, the colony was abandoned due to harsh weather, lack of supplies, and conflicts with the indigenous people in the area.
The role of religion had a major part in the lead up to the revolt. It was the conflict of religion that caused the revolt to happen with the conversion to Catholicism, the injustices were done to the Puebloan people, and rebirth of the Pueblo people had. According to the lecture 10, “in 1660 through the first series of Navigation Acts, the English parliament sets the rules for how the people in the 13 colonies would live their lives”. This was one of the reasons of the rebellion of the 13 colonies, because the colonies they want to have they own rules and live their lives according to the rules that favoring each colony no only England. The acts that created the parliament was only to benefit England, because specify how the colonies behave between them and the mother land.
