A hero can be standing right in front of you. A hero is Someone who puts other people’s lives in front of his/her’s own life. Ponyboy is a hero. Johnny is also a hero. And Darry is a hero. These people are all heroes because they fit the definition of hero. Johnny is a hero. He thinks of other people before himself. He goes into to the burning church to save the children. Pony boy says “‘ I looked around, startled. I hadn’t realized Johnny had been right behind me all the way.’” Meaning he would risk his own life to save the children. He’s not bad like the others. It doesn’t mention in the book that he did any terrible things. He didn’t embarrass Cherry and Marcia like Dally, but he stood up for them. Dally is a bad guy,
He is kind to his gang and helps people out and tries to learn but it isn't for him. Johnny also tries to emotionally help Pony when they were crying. He says to Pony, “stay gold, Ponyboy. stay gold…”pg. 148.
Do you think Dally is a hero based on what he did? Johnny thinks Dally is an hero because he gave him an plan and supplies and told him how to survive from going to jail. Yes i think dally an hero because he saved Johnny from going to the jail. 4. Why does Pony
Dally showed being a hero when he hit Ponyboy when he was on fire in Windrixville. If it wasn’t for Dally, Ponyboy might’ve died for the second time. Dally didn’t hurt Ponyboy he just hit him hard enough to where the fire on Ponyboy’s back went out. Dally didn’t want to be a hero. Dally just did that to save the life of someone he cared about.
Heroes are strong and brave like Ponyboy (in the “Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton). Heroes are someone that puts their life in danger for another to save them. Such as Ponyboy who is a hero because he saved all the children in the burning church. Also with Johnny he kills someone, but it is done in heroism to save his friend from being drowned.
In conclusion, Joseph Pfeifer is a hero. By saving so many lives, it shows that Joseph Pfeifer sacrifices himself for others, cares about others, is courageous, noble, and confident in himself, and that he perseveres when there are tough situations in his way. To me, a hero can be any ordinary person. It is his/her sacrifices and actions that make them special. Joseph was just being an ordinary firefighter, doing his job and fixing a gas leak, but he ended up saving the lives of so many people.
These 3 people are people I consider that are very important to the book. Ponyboy is one of the people in the book that deserves to be or is a hero. Ponyboy is very courageous and helps others. One of the quotation that can support that he’s a hero is when he realized the children are in the burning church he was not afraid at all and said, “I’ll get them, don’t worry!” (p. 91)
In page 56 it states “ I’m drowning, I thought, they’ve gone too far …” and “ I killed him,” he said slowly. “I killed that boy.” This shows where Johnny saved Ponyboy from drowning. Johnny is also a hero when he helped get the little kids get out of the church that was on fire. In the text it states “ He looked over his shoulder and saw that the door was blocked by the flames, then pushed open the window and tossed out the nearest kid.”
What is a hero? That is a question that a lot of people have been asking each other. I think a hero is a person that does something honorable or even picks up something a person dropped on the ground or holds the door open for another person. There are many different kinds of heros in the world. To some people a hero is from a comic book.
A hero is anyone who makes the right decision to sacrifice for a person in need. For example, without heroes like firemen, wildfires and house fires would spread across the nation, costing lives and loss of worldly possessions. Firemen stand strong, risk themselves, and protect all for the well-being, safety of others, and personal property. In addition,
Ponyboy is a fourteen year old boy who lives with his older brothers, Darry and Sodapop. Ever since his parents got into an automobile crash and were killed, Ponyboy and his brothers live on their own. Johnny is a sixteen year old who comes from a tough home, with an abusive father. Johnny is being accused of
Also when they were in the church Ponyboy says “He looked like he was having the time of his life”(Hinton, 79). This shows he loves saving people. A final reason he’s heroic is because Johnny shoved Ponyboy to the window to save Ponyboy instead of saving himself. This shows he cares more about others lives than his life.
This shows how he gained back his self-confidence and his ability to stand up for himself. Johnny finally found his acceptance from Dally when Dally said, “We’re all so proud of you” (148). When Dally said that Ponyboy noticed Johnny’s eyes glowing, “Dally was proud of him... That was all he ever wanted” (148). In the letter he wrote to Ponyboy, “It’s worth saving those kids...
Ponyboy was also very startled that Johnny would do such a thing. And was even more scared that they would kill Johnny for killing Bob. “I said we’re going back to turn ourselves in.” (Hinton, 87) Johnny was very brave in
Johnny tells Ponyboy this because he does not want Ponyboy to end up like him when he dies young. Johnny wants Ponyboy to live a very long exciting life, but to stay out of trouble and to stop fighting with other classes because that is how he is just going to hurt
To me, a hero is someone who gives everything they have to assure the happiness of others and a hero is also someone who gives up his life or her life so someone else could live. In all honesty, a hero isn’t really what we think a “hero” is based on definitions and what the movies or even comic books have told us. Anyone can be
