A hero can be standing right in front of you. A hero is Someone who puts other people’s lives in front of his/her’s own life. Ponyboy is a hero. Johnny is also a hero. And Darry is a hero. These people are all heroes because they fit the definition of hero. Johnny is a hero. He thinks of other people before himself. He goes into to the burning church to save the children. Pony boy says “‘ I looked around, startled. I hadn’t realized Johnny had been right behind me all the way.’” Meaning he would risk his own life to save the children. He’s not bad like the others.
