The defense attourney asked her about her trust and bond with Erica, which Lynn answered she was close and that Erica trusted her. The Defense attourney then impeached her statement and the charges against Jeffrey May. “In those twelve years Erica never confided in you? Did you ever bath your children when they were little? You never noticed lacerations?”(Defence attorney) She answered that she bathed her children and never saw lacerations. This was an attempt by the defence to fraud Lynn May’s intentions. The defense questioned her on the bedroom situation during the May’s marriage. Lynn stated that he would leave the bed at night and she would hear the television on in the other room. “You slept with him, you never got up to see where he was or to check on Erica?” Lynn May repeated she thought he had been watching television but was absent during the times the sex crimes accured. The defense proved that during the time the sex crimes happened Lynn May was receiving financiel support from Jeffrey May. “The divorce proceedings between Lynn and Jeffrey May went on for a while, you were still on his card?”

State of Georgia V. Marcus Dwayne Dixon (2003) Marcus Dixon was a highly recruited high school football player. His life suddenly took a tragic turn when he was falsely convicted of raping a 15 year old girl. The elements around his false conviction could have been avoided with some reform to the criminal justice courts system. Dixon initially had many charges against him but were narrowed down to statutory rape and aggravated child molestation. There was much racial disparity surrounding the jury on Dixon’s case, in that the county that Dixon committed his “crime” was a predominantly white population.
