Toxicology and blood analysis is very close but in a way very different in this case of murders. What the toxicology unit does, is test the bodies for anything unusual or stuff that shouldn’t be happening within the human body. Once all the bodies were found buried under Gacy’s yard, every one of them was tested. The reporting officers found out that along with Gacy’s clown costume he was drugging kids when he was alone with them. The drugs were heavy sedatives and heroin which caused the kids to black out. He would then take them back to his house: rape and dismantle the bodies. This was huge for the officers because gacy never did confess on how so many kids were lured and taken without notice. This was one of the biggest sets of information for the officers. Along with the classification of dismantled bones and teeth. They used information from the teeth and bones and hair follicles to show just how much detail he went into when dismantling his victims. More than 30 years after John Wayne Gacy became known as one of the nation's most notorious serial killers, and nearly two decades after he was executed for his crimes, Cook County sheriff's officials are making fresh efforts to put names to the eight Gacy victims who were never identified. The Cook County Circuit Court documents refer to John Wayne Gacy as the Killer Clown (John). He is one of the most notorious serial killers in United States history. Many serial killers blend in to society because they are the type of person who can go through the motions of ordinary living while acting out against others without giving themselves away (Ramsland 178). Gacy was no exception; while he was busy burying young men under his home he was also running a contractor business, throwing fundraiser as the Democratic precinct captain, in the Chicago suburbs, and entertaining sick children as Pogo the Clown (178). Gacy’s seemingly normal lifestyle to the public was far from the reality of the secret life he lead as a serial killer, taking the life of thirty three young men from 1972 to 1978.

Donald Henry Gaskins Jr. is one of the most infamous American Serial Killers to ever be tried in the criminal justice system. He once stated in an interview that “I have the same path as God, by taking lives and making others afraid, I became my own master. Through my own power I come to my redemption” (Menschenleer). This one quote serves to demonstrate the psychotic tendencies which Gaskins developed and suffered from. Gaskins life began with victimization from family members and peers.
Professor Martin presented that blood evidence can help sequence what has happened at a crime scene, whether the bloody fingerprint came first or the spatter did.
