I grew up in Long Beach, New York which is located approximately 45 minutes away from Manhatten. Long Beach is a tourist town and our small four square mile town doubled in population, from 33,000 to 60,000 people over the summer months. Growing up by the beach was something I took for granted at the time because I was not aware of what a luxury that was until I moved to the middle of Indiana for college. There are two main things you can do in Long Beach and that is going to the beach or eating out. Other than that the town is fairly uneventful.
