The Italian Renaissance was called the beginning of the modern age. The Renaissance was extraordinary for artists and scientist. Many artists erupted in the 14th century. Leonardo de Vinci was an artist and mathematics and that was just a few things he did. Michelangelo was an artist and a sculptor. Donatello did amazing Chapel's paintings and sculptures. They are just a few of many that made an impact during the Renaissance. They were amazing painters and sculptors in my opinion.
Leonardo de Vinci was born in April 15, 1452 near a mountain village of Vinci in central Italy. It was said, when he was younger, he drew a dragon so realistic, his father got scared. When Leonardo was in his teens, Verrocchio agreed to teach Leonardo bout painting. He was mostly a sculptor, building such art as the "St. George Killing the Dragon and the life size statue of St. Louis, using materials including wood, marble, and bronze. He was interested in the ideas of humanism and nature. Donatello's paintings had a lot of vibrant colors and unusual view points and strangely twisted figures.

With Donatello stacher as a son of a tradesman, he was able to be schooled at the home of a wealthy and influential Florentine family of bankers and art that are closely tied to the Medici family. Some of Donatello most famous works of statues are the bronze and marble David, Penitent Mary Magdalene, Saint George, and Equestrian Monument of Gattamelata. Donatello had a deep understanding of ornamentation and classic forms, that important knowledge would eventually change 15-century Italian art.
