The Italian Renaissance was called the beginning of the modern age. The Renaissance was extraordinary for artists and scientist. Many artists erupted in the 14th century. Leonardo de Vinci was an artist and mathematics and that was just a few things he did. Michelangelo was an artist and a sculptor. Donatello did amazing Chapel's paintings and sculptures. They are just a few of many that made an impact during the Renaissance. They were amazing painters and sculptors in my opinion.
Leonardo de Vinci was born in April 15, 1452 near a mountain village of Vinci in central Italy. It was said, when he was younger, he drew a dragon so realistic, his father got scared. When Leonardo was in his teens, Verrocchio agreed to teach Leonardo bout painting. Leonardo wanted to be different than other artists and found beauty in nature that influenced him to start to draw and paint realistic. He was born in 1386 and died at the age of 80 in 1466. Donatello's full name is Donato Di Niccolo Bardi. He was mostly a sculptor, building such art as the "St. George Killing the Dragon and the life size statue of St. Louis, using materials including wood, marble, and bronze. He was interested in the ideas of humanism and nature. Donatello's paintings had a lot of vibrant colors and unusual view points and strangely twisted figures.
Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475. Michelangelo was an Italian painter, sculptor. Three of his famous works are, David and Pietà sculptures, as well as the Sistine Chapel ceiling painting. Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel from 1508 to 1541. David was the symbol and guardian of Florentine liberty. He died on February 18, 1564 in Rome, Italy.
