Wisconsin State Journal, “Marcellus Williams Didn’t Die but Others Will,” August 28, 2017, page A9.
This article is about a man named Marcellus Williams. Marcellus was supposed to be pumped with poison and die. But just hours before planned death penalty the governor of Missouri, Eric Greitens called it off to review his case again. Marcellus was on trial for the murder of Lisha. At the time he was charged with the murder in 1998, he also had a criminal record of burglary and armed robbery. Even with that criminal record and his ex girlfriend telling the police he confessed to her they still did not have full belief that Marcellus killed Lisha. Marcellus’s girlfriend told the police he did it for drugs. But, hair fibers and bloody foot prints that were at the scene did not match Marcellus. In 2015 the Missouri Supreme Court moved his execution date up. But, then his attorney argued for a DNA testing on the weapon that was used, and the DNA did not match

have no guarantees in Canada” is about migrants from Haiti, Colombia, India, Mexico and Turkey. These migrants either were in the U.S. and fled to Canada or are in the U.S. and trying to flee to Canada. The migrants are fleeing to Canada because they are scared that the U.S. will deport them. In Canada they are finding them a place to live and letting their kids go to school but, there are so many coming in that Canada’s immigration system had to make a domed stadium into a makeshift shelter. Now there is a chance that some of those migrants might be deported in 6 months to a year. Minister Marc Garneau visited Quebec and saw how many migrants were there, and he announced that unless these migrants were fleeing because of war or fear of persecution they are not counted as refugees. He said that it is important to take action and clear up that misinformation. Just in two weeks around 4,000 migrants crossed the U.S. border to go into
Lack of physical evidence: Overall in this case there was a lack of physical presented. There were no conclusive DNA results in the case. There was no weapon recovered. The majority of the evidence presented in this case was circumstantial evidence produce by witness testimony.
Lloyd Lee Welch has been the main suspect in the case. In February 2014, it was said that welch had indeed been seen at the mall paying close attention to the sister. In July 2015, Welch was indicted with first-degree felony murder of the Lyon sisters. Then he was also charged with abduction with the intent to defile. Lloyd lee Welch plead guilty to both counts of first degree murder of Shelia and Katherine Lyon back in 1975.
If it goes as scheduled, Texas will execute Jeff Wood next Wednesday for the 1996 murder of a gas station store clerk. The problem: It was a murder Wood did not commit. Wood is scheduled to be executed on August 24 for the murder of Kriss Keeran, a store clerk at a Texaco gas station. This is despite the fact Wood was in his car when Keeran was shot, and may have not known about the shooting until after it was too late.
Overall, Stanley “Tookie” Williams did not deserve clemency. First, according to the article, “As a Criminal” it says “Williams scheduled to be executed at San Quentin State Prison Dec.13 for the shotgun murders of four people…” In other words Williams killed 4 people for what he was held in prison
There was a killing in texas that left three people dead. On December 2014 the jury said that Eric Williams was the killer for these people and he should die for the killing of these people. Cynthia Mclellend and her husband Mike Mclellend were shot to death in there home close to a suburb east of Dallas and mark hasse death but hasn’t been to trial. Authorites said that Eric Williams had stole some computer equipment and he was very upset cause that coast him his law license and job. The court has now found evidence on Eric Williams and said that he killed the people in two different incidents and Eric wife Kim testified and said she drove the getaway car and help him destroy the weapons.
In 2002, Canada followed Homeland Security of United States and came up with an immigration plan. The bill was called “Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.” The focus of the bill was to stop people entering Canada and seeking asylum who will endanger the safety of the Canadians. The bill introduced strict law for people who will try to put the life of Canadians at risk. The law allowed immigration to remove people from the country who may pose a threat to the country.
A difference of race is suggested to be one of the first reasons Vancouver rejects the migrant. As the migrant arrives without a passport or ID, and immigration officers are unable to identify
This article discusses how we are able to analyze recent policy changes from the development of Canada’s immigration policy. The main goal was to understand the objectives of the current policy, how it relates to the economy, and who the policy affects. According to the article, the country’s immigration policy has a history of wanting to use immigration for long and short term goals like economic growth and adjusting to current labor market conditions. Canada’s immigration has drastically changed from what it used to be after abandoning and adopting different concepts. An example would be the “absorptive capacity” concept that was abandoned after realizing it doesn’t truly help the long-term goals it originally was thought to be.
Avery fought several times for an appeal, but each time was denied. Fortunately for Avery, a petition for DNA testing was granted in 1995 and showed that scrapings taken of Beernsten’s fingernails contained the DNA of an unknown person. The tests were unable to eliminate Avery, however, and a movement for a new trial was denied. In April of 2002, attorneys for the Wisconsin Innocence Project obtained a court order for DNA testing of 13 hairs recovered from Beernsten at the time of the crime. The state crime laboratory reported that, using the FBI DNA database, it had linked a hair to Gregory Allen, a convicted felon who bore a striking resemblance to Avery.
Meanwhile, Canada is globally known as a safe haven for those who seek refuge. We also know that Canada has welcomed hundreds of Syrian refugees from October of 2016 until today. But how many of those refugees actually have the right paperwork to enter Canada? Toure’s situation is not much different from the Syrian refugees, both parties decided to fleet their countries for their safety. Although Toure entered Canada with his cousin’s passport, he immediately went to immigration to explain his situation and filed for a refugee status.
9. What are the barriers faced by women in accessing justice and services? Canada is the dream destination for many immigrants. Federal government reported, the number of immigrants entering Canada in 2012 were over 250,000 being one of the highest proportion of foreign-born population in any country. Immigrants who enter Canada generally have no understanding or knowledge of the family justice system and face some serious hindrances in gaining access and learning the system, and arguably, the single group of immigrants that face the greatest barriers are immigrant women who are victims of domestic violence.
Authorities assume that he has shocked early in his life, but no mental disorder. Williams was Sentenced to three consecutive life sentences without parole on July 17, 2008. The nature of crime were rape, mutilation, and dismemberment. Scott Williams had no nickname given. There were 3 victims who were killed and 2 victims who were kidnapped.
In fact, according to the 2006 UN Report on International Migration and Development, Canada is ranked number seven out of twenty-eight countries that host 75% of all immigrants. Canada’s
Canada has been letting in refugees from all over the world, especially the refugees from Syria. Tons of these refugees are easily accepted and are not looked at properly. A refugee is someone who have fled their country due to prosecution, war or violence . Refugees in countries that are at war might not have any documents due to the fact that they probably escaped and didn’t have any time to gather their documents. Tons of these people have lost everything that were close to them including family and friends, homes etc.
Canada should help these countries by following Germany and Sweden’s lead by committing to helping find a solution in ending the worst refugee crisis “since the end of the Second World War” (Gilmore). Sweden and Germany are viewed as two European nations with the most generous asylum policies. Since the beginning of the refugee crisis, Germany has, in all senses had an “open border” (Dahl p.8). This is illustrated by the fact that Germany welcomed over 800,000 refugees in 2015 alone, well above any other European nation (Gilmore). Sweden, a country with a population of only 10 million, accepted in between 1,500-2,000 asylum seekers day in 2015 but has had to decrease that number due to lack of housing and social unrest (Dahl p.2).
