It is no secret that racism and a lack of equal rights have existed in the United States and other parts of the world. To influence the nation as a whole and bring about positive change, an outstanding leader became required. History has recognized Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a great leader. By articulating his goal of granting rights to everyone, Dr. King was able to demonstrate leadership in inspiring others. To win the rights of members of the community, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made sure that everyone stayed on target with non-violent protest and concentrated on the present. Martin Luther King Jr. made a significant contribution to the civil rights movement. Dr. King demonstrated excellent national and international leadership abilities. Dr. King was able to disperse and bring people together, and how his leadership style entailed more interaction with followers and the capacity to collaborate with them to achieve a common objective. When Dr. King built trust with individuals it led to more effective and more productive relationships. Dr. King was known to others as an individual that is trustworthy, treats others with dignity and respect, and this will help someone to gain trust in the person. When building trust, it creates a partnership between the individuals. People are more open to sharing ideas and developing creative plans that could be beneficial to people in the community. King was able to make his dream come true. In 1964 at the age of thirty-five, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was recognized as the youngest male to receive the Nobel Prize. Dr. King was able to win the Nobel Peace Prize for fighting racial inequality through non-violent resistance. Dr. King was able to receive money and gave it over to support the civil rights movement. Kings Death In the year 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King was standing out on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. King had been assassinated. He was preparing to attend a protest for striking Memphis sanitation workers. Workers of the sanitation company employee were on strike since March 12, where they pleaded for higher wages. Before the strike a black repairment only received two hours of pay and was sent home due to the weather, but one the white workers was able to receive full day’s pay.
