Samuel Truett Cathy came up with a philosophy early in his life to work hard and place his trust in God.He died at the age of 93 and died on september 8,2014. He is the founder and chairman of Chick-fil-a. This business was started in 1946. In 1947,he officially started the first chick-fil-a in atlanta . After graduating from high school worked for the United States Civil Service. He was part of a team that fixed military equipment. He soon had 200 mechanics working under him. Later he got drafted by the Army and had an assignment. In 1944 his unit had To join the South Pacific to fight. However, before he was shipped out, Truett gained a skin allergy which made him be discharged in 1945. After serving, Truett opened his first restaurant, a diner in Hapeville , with his brother Ben. In 1961 Truett Came up with the chicken sandwich.. In 1949 he married Jeannette McNeill and later on they had three children:Dan, Don, and Trudy.
