Pitiful. I felt pitiful. What were we doing right now? We were all crying right now and acting like a bunch of wusses. I am Jack Merridew, I am not putting up with this anymore. I dried my eyes and stopped crying. I stood up and brushed the warm sand off of me. I subtly grabbed my spear, and hurled it forcefully at the naval officer’s back. He let out a piercing scream and fell to the ground. His white jacket soon turned red with blood, and I could not help but smile. The boys looked around and saw the naval officer on the ground. They looked at me in horror. I decided to make a run for it. I started kicking sand everywhere, it made a huge cloud and got in their mouths and eyes. Then I ripped the spear out of the officers back, took the keys to his boat as well as a piece of candy he had in there. I then sprinted as fast as I could to the boat and …show more content…
I pressed a ton of buttons and the boat started to move and increase its speed. I was driving a boat! A real live boat! I couldn't wait to tell everyone at school about this. Wait… Who am I kidding? I'm never going back to school! All was going good, until I remembered I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. I only vaguely remembered the video they showed at boarding school about boats, in addition to my family for boat rides every month when my father visited my mom and I. I just kept driving to my best ability, but wait- where exactly was I going? Who cares, I'll find a nice little island and live there for the rest of my life hunting. That's all I want to do- hunt. I decided to explore the boat. I opened a few compartments and found a few things: gloves, a gun, and glasses. How lucky did I get? I also found an extra set of clothes, I don’t even remember the last time I wore clothes. I decided to put them on. They were about three sizes too large but I was okay with that. I put the gloves, gun, and glasses in the pockets of my pants and continued to steer the
I did all of this while holding the hatchet in my hand. On the shore, I toke all my clothes off to not get hypothermia.
Above the rungs on the little lifeboat I see four figures a zebra, an orangutan, a ravenous hyena and my owner 's son- Pi. I lie and stay still under the rung of the lifeboat as the sun beats intensely on the boat. Pi looks afraid as the hyena is growling viciously. Out of nowhere, the hyena sprints and mangles the zebra until it lies there dead, but this hyena was thirst for blood and it devours the orangutan as well covering the boat in the metallic blood. Knowing I could not survive of this boat alone, I have to protect Pi.
Judd Rose quotes“ With power comes the abuse of power. And where there are bosses, there are crazy bosses. It's nothing new’. This is a very good example of how merridew uses him power to have advantage over everyone else. When he gains power he feels as he is more superior than anyone else, so he controls their every single move and forces them to do anything he wants.
Lord of The Flies is a novel written by William Goulding that could be about many topics such as the inner darkness in everyone, power struggles, roots of wars, and spiritual references. The characters represented different theories and real-life events, and they embodied them. Jack Merridew happened to represent evil inside of humans and the power struggles between governments. Jack demonstrated how people willingly give into evil and leave humanity behind. He wasn't the good little boy but a savage who killed and hunted.
The Man Jack was after the baby, the baby without a name, the baby called nobody, the baby in which he was to execute. The author Neil Gaiman made Bod without a name because his presence is ghostly and it makes the people reading the book keep reading to find out his name. He pretty much is a ghost to people because nobody knows who he is except for ghosts and recently scarlett. His parents Mrs.Owens and Mr.Owens are ghosts, and he is very similar to a ghost because he can see in the dark and communicate to ghosts. He has powers that regular human beings don't have.
Involuntary Manslaughter A child is born neither innocent nor evil. That is a title that shall be earned later in life based on their personal actions and choices. William Golding’s novel Lord of the Flies follows a group of young british school boys aged five to twelve as they fend for their lives on a deserted island infested with a beast that lives within us all, evil.
While reading Lord of the Flies in class you are introduced to many different characters. They act different, they talk slightly different, and they some have different ages. As we all know, little kids can be frustrating to work with. So when the character “Jack” is introduced being stern and controlling, is it justified? I think so
III. The Legacy of Jack the Ripper in Literature Although the Ripper’s identity is still unknown, the legacy of Jack the Ripper remains prevalent in literature emerging in the last two centuries. The Ripper appeared in fiction as early as 1897, when Bram Stoker’s Dracula was published. Many of the themes in the story are thought to be inspired by the Ripper killings. Dracula is a Ripper-like character: dark, mysterious, and deadly.
The next thing I know Bill had grabbed me and threw me down. Then he grabbed me by my T-shirt and hair and dragged me toward the kitchen (pg 10). He hit me in my chest and stomach and that’s when I just couldn’t take. I screamed at him as he dragged me across the parquet floor. After he had dragged me into the kitchen, let go of me, and yelled at me again to wash the dishes, I stood up and grabbed the biggest sharpest knife I could find.

One individual in Jack Merridew, a boy who is turned cruel and ruthless, is being charged with 1st degree murder for the deaths of two boys, Piggy and Simon. I feel a frustration building up in my head, as hit the water in anger. I hear other people in the boat mumbling how we should have won. When the boat hits the dock I climb out and put my shoes on. I pull the boat out of the water with my teammates.
While I was still gazing upon the shield, the chieftain drew a knife, and thrusted it at me. I drew my sword, and impaled him in his gut. He died instantly. I thought nobody would believe my story, so I fled the scene and the village. I had no other skills, so I became a mercenary.
This kind of piracy can be viewed as tricking people as they moved along the river. River pirates had developed ingenious methods of capturing floating boats over the year. These methods varied from offering help to innocent crew members over some apparently dangerous rapids or a suggestion to manoeuvre towards a cave with clean water and a calming view. Once the unknowing were deep into the cave, the pirate gang would attack the boat mercilessly, often leaving no survivors. The passengers would be slain, their goods and possessions looted, possibly to be sold elsewhere by the
I delivered my line ‘’We wanna throw the book at him’. My character aggressively arrests Narrator 2, handling him with handcuffs. In the prom scene I played the medic. At the beginning Narrator 2 goes up to Erin and asked her if she could dance with him and she says yes. The music played and Narrator 2 and Erin started dancing.
• Jack is a dynamic and rounded character in the story with the ability to display many different traits such as being very open and accepting others into his adventures as he allowed the animals to join him on his journey. He opened his heart to each of the different animals simply because they asked to join him. Jack is also a very cunning and smart person as he was able to figure out a way to get the robbers out of their house without putting any of the animals or himself in danger, “Then Jack went back and told them to wait till he gave the word, and then to make all the noise they could. So, when they were all ready Jack gave the word, and the cat mewed, and the dog barked, and the goat bleated, and the bull bellowed, and the rooster crowed,
