1. Scientists using the Hubble Space Telescope discovered an ocean on Ganymede that has more water than exists on all of Earth’s surface. The ocean is 60 miles thick and is about 10 times deeper than the oceans on Earth.
2. Scientists also believe that the surface shows the possibility of flooding caused by water coming up through crevices or volcanos.
3. 3,270 miles across, Ganymede is the largest moon in the solar system with a liquid ocean that lies beneath the surface.
4. Galileo probe discovered a magnetic field in 2002 which helps support the idea that the moon has an ocean which is beneath the surface.
5. Using Hubble, scientists are also able to view the faint light (auroras) that show at the poles of Ganymede. These are a result
It started at the North Pole and it stretched to the 37th parallel which is along the southern edges of Virginia, Kentucky, and Missouri. The estimated area it covered was around five million square miles, and at parts it could reach up to ten thousand feet thick (Britannica). Even though the lakes in Michigan are proof that the Laurentide Ice Sheet melted, it did so very slowly, and there is even some proof that our ancestors lived in the area underneath where the great lakes are today (draining the great lakes). As it retreated, it carved, and under all of that weight compacted the crust enough to create at least five basins that are now the Great lakes. This created an area in where twenty percent of the world’s fresh surface water resides (TED ED).
I researched about William Herschel, who was a conductor, organist, composer and music teacher. William Herschel knew the stars well and was always curious as to what was beyond the Earth. He had built himself a homemade telescope and enjoyed viewing the stars from it. As he was observing the stars one night he noticed an object that he could not clarify what it was. Other astronomers had seen this object, but never really observed how different it was.

As both the United States and the world rapidly developed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, society evolved at a pace previously unimaginable. Electricity illuminated modern urban areas, cars began to dominate the streets, and families began to travel to movie theaters for a unique motion-picture experience. Yet, while the world was changing by the minute, some components of society were not reflective of societal revolution. Specifically, it was during the late 19th century that the conversation for women’s suffrage was even addressed for the first time, following the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848. It would be an extensive and arduous 72 years until women were ultimately given the right to vote, officially delineating women
The largest surface area of freshwater in the world. This would cover an area about the size of the state of Oregon. The water volume of the Great Lakes is 5,500 cubic miles (22,809 cubic km), 90% of U.S. supply, 18% of
The Atlantic Ocean, with its surrounding seas is 8,065 metres, or 28, 232 feet, deep, and has an area of 41.1 million miles squared. Walter Mitty gets in a helicopter that is being piloted by a drunk man over the Atlantic Ocean. Once they reach the boat in the middle of the sea he jumps out and misses the rescue boat, when a few minutes later is being attacked by a vicious shark. By utilizing his wits, he manipulates his steel briefcase to fight off and protect him from the carnivore.
After traveling with a group of boys for days on end, Ishmael reaches what appears to be the Atlantic Ocean. It’s clear and blue and seems to go on for miles. It excites the boys and appears to
In the 1800’s, the societal niche of married women was clearly defined: they were meant to devote every aspect of their lives to their husbands and children. Edna Pontellier, the protagonist in Kate Chopin’s The Awakening, struggles to adhere to these standards, and eventually rebels against them. The harsh standards placed on Edna and other women in the novel are like the cages around the metaphorical birds Chopin uses to represent them. Edna's unhappiness in her societal role is realized in the ocean, which symbolizes this awakening and her attempt to escape the gender roles of the nineteenth century.
Exploring the ocean could help people understand Earth better to.
Abyssal plains are generally flat areas of the ocean basin, that are usually found at depths of 13,000-16,000 ft. Abyssal plains are believed to be flat because they are overlaid with sediments that have been drained off the surface of continents for thousands of years. On the abyssal plains, the sediment layers have hidden any deviation that may exist in the rock of the ocean floor under them. In the Atlantic and Indian Oceans the abyssal plains are usually bigger in length compare to those found in the Pacific Ocean.

NASA said where ever there is water there is living things. So that means there are living things on that planet where they found the water. People from NASA have cameras in space, they saw and found small movement where the water. Lots of people say that what NASA found
They are easiest to see on a moonless night in an enclosed room. Having the curtains shut and all the lights in and around the room is necessary to witness this phenomena. Entoptic auroras will start to appear fairly quickly if it is completely dark. They are very pretty and entertaining to watch. Obviously, this phenomena does not accurately depict what is happening in reality, and others cannot witness the same auroras with you.
Ocean V. Space Exploration The ocean covers more than 70% of the Earth, yet we’ve explored only around 5% of it. This means there is so much more to explore in the ocean. The one reason we haven’t explored as much of the ocean is because of space. Space is wildly more popular, and has proven its worth with many advancements.
The ocean… The sound of the waves applauding and hugging the shore. The internal sounds of the body out in the world’s biggest swimming pool. The echo of my sister’s laughter. The salty smell so strong that one can taste it dancing on ones taste buds.
