I was born in California, but I lived most of my life in Idaho and Washington. Some of the things that interest me are to make things with Legos, and to watch documentaries. Eye Witness videos that we’d check out from the library are the best.
I was in a home link program up until seventh grade. A home link program is you do your main curriculum at home, but you get to go to a class or classes once or twice a week. There were classes like woodshop, rocketry, pottery, cooking, choir, and piano. Also there were more serious classes like writing, math, science, and social studies. Being introduced to piano during home link, I decided I liked piano, so I started taking private lessons from the same teacher. Eventually I started taking singing lessons from her also. Some of the pieces I have learned are really difficult pieces like Mazurka in C Major by Chopin and Sonatina in A Minor by Kuhlau. At CCS I sang Castle on a Cloud at the talent show.

When I was about four to five years old, my dad was drawing circuits while taking electrical engineering classes. As I would watch him do his homework, I thought it was interesting so I drew a lot of circuits. In the summer before seventh grade and I took a circuit class at the Kroc Center. The class involved making circuits to do certain tasks. Another thing that was involved in this class was we had a schematic and we had to make a circuit from it. It was really easy for me but the other kids were struggling at it so I helped them in including the high school
It is almost the end of the day in which we end with my second favorite lesson. Math with Mr. Berger. Again although my class has been yelled at alot, math was really fun. We learned about tessellation which is formed by repeating one or more shapes so they fit together without leaving any gaps or overlapping. We drew those and it was so fun.
“Crack”, “click” was what I heard before the most excruciating pain I have ever felt filled my right knee. It was on October 7th, it was just weeks before my junior season was going to start. I was at Massillon Washington high school at wrestling practice like I was almost every day. I was drilling with the assistant coach Percy McGee hitting single legs which was my favorite move. About 40 seconds into the drill I hit another single and all of a sudden my knee locked at about 90 degrees.
October 14 7:07 am: The raindrops glisten as i walk along the road listening to my walkman. “another day another blunder” i thought to myself. when im a minute away the bus drives right by me. “oh crap” i pull out my phone to call my parents. When I get to my bus stop I like all my parents and they come pick me up but when they before they do that they yell at me like every other day when I get to school I go straight to the band room to drop off my bass clarinet.
The first thing I did was a workshop class in ninth grade, which exposed me to basic circuits which I really enjoyed. Later I applied to go to C-TEC for Electrical Trades further exposing me to what an electrician does, I spent a lot of time learning and understanding the field. Through C-TEC I learned how to read electrical diagrams, as well as how to wire things according the the rules of the National Electrical Code. I also learned about the different types of conduit and their uses. Another thing I was exposed to during my schooling at C-TEC was different types of components that I would be working with out in the field.
Listen my grandchildren, to the story of my past, the good and the bad, how your grandfather and I met, and the cruelty of the world around us. It was the date November 9, 1938. I was playing at my best friend, Rebecca’s house. Her house was a part of her father’s shop, which sold everything from shoes, to toys, to makeup, to clothes, anything you could ever imagine.

Lesson 12- Students gave their preference to which country they would expand their soda company to and had to back their decision with support from data Lesson 3-Rolling dice game with partners gave students the chance to practice using the exponent properties and then checking their answers with their partners Lesson 4- Students combined their individual properties posters to create a large group poster. They had to make a list of similarities and difference between all their posters. Lesson 8- Students had to think, pair, share on which property of exponents they would be applying to the new concept of multiplying/dividing numbers in scientific notation Lesson 4-Students were able to create properties of exponents posters, collaborate and they were posted in the hall way
The Cost of a Click. It all started with a voice, one that I recognized from duets, and group choruses. It had always stood out to me, strong, passionate, unique. It was a voice I admired, a voice that spoke to me.
The activities that we did in class helped tie in the lessons with what we learned in our homework. The ones that I really got the most information from was when we would pair into groups and Look at documents. The first day of class, when we did that for the first time gave me an idea on what the class would be like. Not just learning about history, but also learning about what we can take from the history. When we took the documents I thought I wouldn’t be able to identify, I was able to at least tell from what time period that they were from.
Overall I am completely satisfied with my experience from History Maker Homes. Not only is the company small and feel like a family but I had a one on one experience with my supervisor that was able to focus all of his time towards teaching. I have learned how to overcome many challenges. I have continued to build on my education from classes I have taken. My internship has become a valuable learning experience that I will continue to build on when I start back at Texas A&M University in the spring.
During my job shadow with Ms. Eileen Chalupa on Doane’s Campus I learned how to be creative, come up with my own style of graphic designing, and most importantly to never give up or lose hope on a project that someone has asked for. Her job is the head graphic designer at Doane University. Some questions that I asked her during the job shadow were what are some positive aspects and negative aspects of working as a graphic designer, are the hours flexible for the job and another question I asked was what training did she do to get ready for this type of work and if it required any type of education to complete. One of the reasons she chose this career was because her mother went through the desktop publishing program at Southeast Community
We talked about all of these foreign concepts I had never heard of. At first, I had a difficult time wrapping my head around the class with all these new formulas, rules, and definitions. Grasping the concept of getting my homework done every single night was also difficult and frustrating. I did learn better time management in this class though. I also learned the basics for my future math classes.
When one thinks about changing anything about where they live, it turns out to be difficult topic, or at least it is for me. Even though it is a hard thought for me to process, I do have some things that I would change. A couple of things that I would change about my place of living would be, changing our gravel driveway to an asphalt one and building a two or three car garage. Changing the driveway has been on my mind, I would say ever since I began driving. Keeping my car clean is one thing that I really like to do.
My fifth grade summer started with my mother volunteering me as a tutor twice a week throughout the summer. I visited my neighbor’s house to assist her in tutoring kids with math and reading. I of course protested, but my mom being my mom made me do it anyways. After my first week, I began focusing primarily on tutoring elementary aged kids. It took me a few sessions to acclimate to a teaching role rather than a student.
I assisted the teacher with the daily class routines. This involved dividing the class into
