Upon hearing the word scholarship, many would think of money given to you by schools or organizations. However, I think of achievement. When scholarships are awarded to students, they are typically in recognition of the student’s achievements. (Typically, scholarships are awarded in recognition of student achievements.) If I were to receive a scholarship for my achievements, I would be honored to be recognized for something special I have done or accomplished. Recognition for high academic standing or test scores is also recognition for the great effort I have put in. These scholarships can give someone the opportunity to do something that they might not have been able to do before they were given recognition and help. (Prior to receiving recognition and financial assistance.) When most hear the word leadership, they think of rank and power, such as a president or vice president that runs an organization and makes the decisions for the group. When I think of leadership, I think of one person working to represent everyone so that all parties involved can benefit. I personally feel that a sense of leadership is something that comes easy to me, and I feel that is true for multiple reasons. I feel that a good leader possesses three main qualities: selflessness, …show more content…
When I think of service, I think of volunteer work, and of helping others with no expectation of payment or reward. Like most people, I have faced many challenges that have impacted my life and how I live it immensely. It also showed me how much a simple gesture of gratitude can help in a time of need. That experience is what has inspired me to work with all of the community service programs I have, such as the Wake Forest volunteen program and crosby scholars. I take as many volunteer opportunities as I can so that hopefully, like some have done for me, I can inspire someone in this world to volunteer and do good deeds to benefit
They always believed that I could do it and I did. I really made their own dreams come true as well because they wanted me to accomplish this long time goal. Seeing the smile on their faces and tears of joy really moved me. I felt so encouraged to excel in school to the best of my abilities. By winning this scholarship, I could follow my dreams and make an impact on the world.
I believe that I am qualified to receive a scholarship because I have worked hard throughout my high school life to keep my grades high and to volunteer as much as I could. I am a very active member in NHS and PHP at my school, and I look for many opportunities in order to participate more in community service. Working with the community and the people around me has helped me tremendously with becoming more of a leader and being more willing to share ideas that I may have. I believe that a scholarship will push me even further towards my psychology degree and my dreams of someday being able to help others through my career.
Ever since I was a young child, I attended International Schools. As a result of attending such schools, I began to feel more of a third culture child in my own country, rather than a normal Polish girl. I began to feel as if I was not fully from one place, but that I was from multiple locations, even though I lived in Warsaw my whole life. Being surrounded by people from different backgrounds and from all around the world taught me to be open-minded, to be aware that everyone has their own story and it gave me an international perspective.
Throughout my college career, I have gone many different directions, from Pre-Physical Therapy to Business and finally made it to Environmental Science. Since a little girl, I have always been fascinated by what makes up nature and finding ways to help the environment which fostered me towards Environmental Science. I have always had compassion and an interest in ecology and learning how why things are the way they are. Hence, I have been passionate how to protect our world today. Therefore, once I found the Environmental and Sustainability Studies program at Tennessee Technological University, I knew that I was in the right place.
Maintaining life’s balance for anyone, especially college students can be quite challenging. However with proper planning and commitment, it can be achieved. I personally like to make a chart, so that I can learn how to study more effectively with the time I have. I also like having a balanced diet and exercise schedule, because it makes feel a lot better, and I’m able to concentrate more easily. Another thing that I’ve learned how to do that helps me eliminate some things in my schedule is, too let the little things go and concentrate on the bigger things in life.
My areas of interest for college are the minimum population, small class size, a high rating of the college and a friendly and inspiring environment with motivation and opportunities. I want to apply to a competitive university in which it would force me to do the best of what I know in order to get accepted to the school of my choice. By doing this it will help me gain confidence in myself and make me feel accomplished for the knowledge I have. A few schools I am interested in applying for are; Temple University, Penn State University, Drexel University, Thomas Jefferson University, and lastly Buck’s County Community College. Due to the fact that I have experienced a transferring of schools, I was able to see things in a different view.
In response to a job posting dispersed by the Global Citizenship Fellows Program, I would like to present myself to be considered for the position of a Community Engagement Fellow in Los Angeles, California. Holding both my Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree and Bachelors of Social Work, I also have extensive experience working both nationally and internationally with the world’s most vulnerable populations. With my ability to strengthen community engagement through community partnerships, as well as my demonstrated commitment to serving youth and their families, I believe I exemplify all the qualities of a “Global Citizen”. It is for these reasons and more I believe I would be a strong candidate for this position.
The people I would want on my team would be to make up for what I am lacking in. Since I like to come up with ideas and organize, I would want someone that inspires people and get them motivated to do what we all agreed upon. I also want someone that is that voice that would represent out group on a much bigger scale and they are comfortable in public speaking. I also want another person similar to me so we can share our results and compare to see what needs to be improved. Also to make sure everything is set to a priority and that everything gets divided up among team members, which everything will be completed by the given deadline.
Curiosity and my eagerness of exploring all the possibilities make me a driven student. To be honest, even before I was born, my parents had thoroughly planned my life. They wanted to send me to private schools through high school, then, I would go to Hong Kong for college. They had even planned my future career well. It seemed great to the others that I had the privilege of living a well-off life without struggle.
I have always believed that knowledge, patience, and persistence determine how business ideas take shape. Armed with this belief, I seek to pursue MBA at the University of La Verne and explore the frontiers of the world of business in a full-fledged manner. As I grew up in a business family, I was able to closely observe how entrepreneurial skills and innovation act as the perfect ingredients for preparing solutions that resonate well with the customers. Since high school, I had a clear perception of my future ambitions, and I knew that I would choose the entrepreneurial path. From a very young age, challenges have always been my motivation.
Imagine you in highschool and you are trying to figure out who you want to be. Your choices will decide on what colleges you you want to go to or will be available to you. In order to know what you want to be in life or what you are doing like at a job you have to have some type of knowledge or education. For example you have any idea on what steps to take in order to reach your goal.
I do think that I had achieved the goal that I had proposed for myself, but I do think I could have improved a lot more in trying to achieve my goal, but there is always going to be more room for improvement. I am quite proud of how far I have come throughout this process of my product but I was hoping to get a lot more work done with my product at this point of time. When I had to think about how I was going to present my product I had a less understanding in what I had wanted to do for my product and how I was going to display the product in a creative and eye catching way. I had thought about the time it would take to create the product and how much time it would take finding the relevant information I needed for my product.
I am fortunate to have found what I love to do early in my life. My exposure to sustainable concepts is not something I had planned or anticipated. However, after active involvement in sustainability projects related to alternative energy, water reduction and waste recycling I have discovered that there is no other field which I would rather focus my efforts toward. Upon reflection, I realize my academic choices, professional experiences and personal beliefs have created a path that has led me to this revelation.
I have been involved in the entertainment and tech industry throughout my career. Obsessed with the way technology and media have changed the way we relate to each other, I have come to value these tools for the super-ability they have given to influence relationships in positive ways. I love the fact that I can participate in changing the life of someone I may never even meet in person. For a people lover, there isn’t much better than the ability to love more people than you can physically interact with. I have served in the role of project management and interpersonal translator via my position with the mega-successful start-up app, The Bible App and through my experience around the world with Bosch Global.
anything and this is something that I truly believe because I’m always open to learning or to doing something new that I’m not familiar with. I’ve always tell myself that I don’t want to be a self-proclaim know it all type of a person, so this characteristic of an ideal helper stands out to me immediately and I know that as a helper I would be learning new things all the time. Especially, when it has to do with working with clients that are looking for answers to resolve their needs. In addition, I realized since I started on the part to becoming a helper that things are not always the way I see them and there are a board prospective and meaning to everything, to things that are already set in place also, for the things that is happening around
