Creating a personal and motivational drive to succeed is an essential aspect of my life. Being actively involved in high school has lead me to this drive. Through these experiences in high school, I am more than capable to succeed in college. At North Fort Myers High School, the fulfillment of experiences has lead me to attending the University of South Florida starting in 2017. Nursing has become not only a passion, but a future career. Through my motivational drive to succeed, I must achieve my goals. My four years spent at North Fort Myers High School, I was actively involved in many different clubs and activities. Thus including dance, cheer, National Honors Society, Red Cross Club and Future Health Professions of America. Through my …show more content…
I have danced at Robin Dawn Academy for 10 years as well as dancing at North Fort Myers High all four years. Being able to learn and understand different aspects of succeeding a motivational drive, understanding details and content. I have also been involved in cheerleading for two years. Through stunting, dancing, learning cheers and teamwork, cheerleading helped me get involved within a group. Cheer taught me to not only work hard for myself, but also to improve the team as a whole. Through community outreach, National Honors Society in our schools chapter is involved. Being in the club for two years, as a senior, I have participated in countless community service projects as well as obtaining a leadership position; Executive Board. Through the Executive Board, these individuals help organize meetings, service projects and ideas school wide to promote the club. National Honors Society has completed many service projects such as a beach cleanup, adopt a road, donating books, and donating hygiene products. Cheer has also participated in volunteer service such as Breast Cancer Walk, helping at Sports Night and Freshman Orientation. Outside of high school activities, volunteering is a major aspect to my life. For five years, I have been involved in the American Cancer Society through raising money for cancer research. Funding and participating in Relay for Life, I have contributed to the many teams and organizations within the community. Throughout these years, our team, Team Hoot has won the Rising Star award at last year’s relay. This year I was actively involved in the leadership committee at the Fort Myers Relay for Life. Organizing the survivor tent, administering the event, and helping raise funds, this year was a new experience to guide others through leadership. During the summer, I also volunteered at Cape Coral Hospital. Through organizing, giving meals, and helping nurses, the opportunity to work within the hospital gave me a look into my future. As a result, community outreach and experiences is an essential aspect to my life that I
“You did it. You helped make a difference,” were the words I heard when I felt my perspective on life change. It was in that moment, standing in the hallway of my high school, holding a crisp check of $2,000 for the American Heart Association that I realized I did not need to be a superhero in order to make a difference. When I became the president of my National Honor Society(NHS) chapter, I set out to make a difference within my school. In years past, the NHS chapter at my school was not extremely active and I set out to reinvent the chapter.
Throughout my high school career, I was in three honorary clubs, which were Spanish Honor Society, Florida Future Educators of America, and Key club. Without including the honorary societies I was in five other clubs; Peace Insight, Diabetes awareness, Interact club, Here to Help, and Wolv Pak. I was a member of Wolv Pak from my sophomore year to my senior year. In Wolv Pak, we would cheer the football team every Friday night, and assist in a portion of the pep rallies. I was also a part of Here to Help from my sophomore to my senior year.
I have been able to help serve the poor in the community as well as focus on legislative goals. This is why I believe I could be of valuable service in not only getting your youth engaged in active community service but organizing it in a way that would truly help the community and leave the youth feeling deeply satisfied with their
In high school I was a part of the National Honor Society, where I helped plan some of the events. One event we did was the orientation for incoming freshmen. I helped think of activities, such as a scavenger hunt, for the students to learn about the resources they have available to them. I also helped plan a fundraiser for our club. We were able to have Chick-Fil-A sponser our club.
In National Honor Society, I engage in volunteer projects for community service hours which showcase the four pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I also hold the Secretary position in SADD club. My duties include making announcements, informing members of upcoming meetings, and helping other officers with their duties.
National Honor Society requires hard work in both academics and community involvement. It has helped me to not only place academics as a priority, but also to prioritize being involved in the environment around me. I have always been very involved in my community because the church that I have been a member of since birth has always promoted putting others before myself. I have gone on multiple mission trips with my church that have completely changed my view of the world. Those mission trips have and continue to help me to see what I have and what I am capable of doing.
As a junior in high school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society for doing exceptionally well in my academic endeavors and actively participating in volunteer events. My contributions through this organization have made a significant impact on both my personal development and my community’s support services. The numerous volunteer projects in which I have participated have prepared me to continue helping others in the future. Through projects such as building houses from the ground-up with Habitat for Humanity, I have developed teamwork skills, discovered my management potential, and increased my social network, all while working to provide services for less fortunate individuals in my community. Some
Throughout my four years of high school, I have kept myself occupied by participating in three student organizations that has developed me into a helpful and prestigious individual. My participation in the Alexander High School UIL Academic team taught me the lesson of hard work pays off. I took the opportunity to join my high school's UIL current events and social studies team which allowed me to compete against others based on my knowledge of the topic. By competing, UIL has educated me that in order to succeed, you must be willing to make sacrifices and dedicate your time towards studying in order to earn a medal or a ribbon. Thankfully, I got to place in many invitational events.
By active community service, leadership roles, and hard work, I have learned the incredible importance of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. Through these things, I have been substantially prepared by the Beta Club to serve others as I depart high school and
The National Honor Society helped me gain communication and confidence skills. It was where the top 20 percent of students gather together to volunteer and build leadership for their current clubs and future dreams. I enjoyed doing community services with this fantastic group because they have helped me become a better leader towards anything I wanted to be. While I was building my leadership I was also building my self-esteem. I was being more confident in meeting new people and giving out a speech in front of a huge crowd.
I am truly honored to be one of the many outstanding students at Seminole High School who are being considered for admission into our chapter of the National Honor Society. I feel that I fulfill the expectations of the Society because I exemplify scholarship, leadership, service, and character in both our school and our community. However, the pillar that I feel that I represent best is service. After more than 130 hours volunteering, I feel that I can truly grasp what service means to our community, and how that service exemplifies one of the pillars of the National Honor Society.
Not only do these clubs recognize academic excellence, they also provide many opportunities for community service. Blood drives, food drives and Operation Christmas Child are only a few of the projects that we participate in throughout the year. I am
It helps me decide what kind of ambassador I can be for the community that I take part
Ever since I was a child, I've loved science. In elementary school, I delved myself in science clubs and experiments, from experimenting with water to making volcanoes and........ Since then, the thrill of learning science and its application was instilled in me. In middle school, I began to love solving intricate problems, and tried to delve even further; I started designing new experiments with my friends in science club (KIR) such as making paper speakers, investigating magnetic properties, and making batteries out of the lead. I realized that experimenting and trying something new with the knowledge I had are my passions.
Art had always been a big part of my life. At age 12, I remember watching a music video of my favourite band and how tears just started to stream down my face. I was so touched at how such a beautiful story was told in such a simple way. Since then, I promised myself that I would someday make something that beautiful. I would make a mark on the world, as I inspire others to make their own.
