Brutus feels and speaks as though the “conspiracy” has a human face. He says to them, “Oh, conspiracy, are you ashamed to show your face even at night, when evil things are most free?” He feels as though they are hiding too much behind their cloaks and hats. Instead, they should have a mask of expression upon their faces. The conspirators should display happiness and exhibit joy among their face, not on their hats or cloaks that were covering their expressions. Also, Brutus personifies the conspiracy to be a monster. He makes an excellent point saying, if a monster has to hide during the darkness of the night, then where will it hide during the day.
