The most persuasive argument I can give to convince 7th and 8th grade students not to start using psychoactive drugs, such as alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and MDMA (Ecstasy) is to explain what psychoactive drugs are, how it will affect their body and brain, and how it can ruin their life. I will explain that psychoactive drugs are substances that can alter their consciousness, mood, and thoughts and give them examples from page 129 of the textbook. These drugs affect communication between brain cells in certain regions of the brain.
