In recent years, there have been anti-circumcision movements gaining steam that mindlessly compares the circumcision of a boy with the genital mutilation of a woman. Circumcision is where the foreskin is trimmed to make my dong look awesome and reduce chances for STD's. What is done to women is equivalent to chopping the head of a penis off.
Before I go on further into this, just know that a lot of the language can be offputting, and the images, even though just drawings, can be NOT SAFE FOR WORK.
What really got me started on this rant is something that recently happened in my neck of the woods: A Detroit emergency department doctor was arrested with performing female genital mutilation on young girls at a medical clinic in Livonia, Mi (a

Circumcised men might have a lower risk of certain sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Still, safe sexual practices remain essential.
Prevention of penile problems. Occasionally, the foreskin on an uncircumcised penis can be difficult or impossible to retract (phimosis). This can lead to inflammation of the foreskin or head of the penis.
Decreased risk of penile cancer. Although cancer of the penis is rare, it's less common in circumcised men. In addition, cervical cancer is less common in the female sexual partners of circumcised men.
You can clean it easier, reduce the risk of a UTI (I have NEVER had one in my life), reduce the risk of an STD, prevent penile problems, and reduce the risk of penis cancer. No one wants penis cancer, or any other othe the things that comes with foreskin. The only problem with removing the foreskin and having sexual relations with someone from another country who is used to men with foreskin. Let's just say that the women are used to more to work with, so they may cause you pain by tugging to hard. That is a serious FYI, my circumcised friends.
Now let's look at what the anti-circumcision movement compares male circumcision
Spay and Neuter Vs. Not to Spay and Neuter The positive effects of a spay and neuter. If a spay is done before approx. two years of age, greatly reduces the risk of some mammary gland tumors, the most common malignant tumors in female dogs and cats.
Abortion has always been a controversial topic, and with debates from the recent presidential election bringing abortion back into the spotlight, it is clear that people have varying views as well as a great misunderstanding of abortion. Often, the morality of such action is widely discussed, and stones are quickly thrown. I believe that abortion should be legally and safely obtainable in all cases for women who feel it is the best path to take in their pregnancy. While abortion is currently legal in all 50 states, some lawmakers are working to make abortions virtually unobtainable. For example, in Ohio, a heartbeat bill sat on the desk of Governor Kasich.
Most of the fathers how are circumcised agree that they are normal circumcised guys and they want their sons to be normal too. They believe that their sons should look like them and they also feel like circumcision is not only expect from women, but it’s part of being a man as well. Those who have been circumcised but who are not going to have their sons go through it say that they feel pain once and a while from the scars of circumcision and it pains them to have sex. Others say that their circumcisions are the cause of their erectile dysfunction (ED) and impotency.
Sexuality and reproductive system Restricted blood flow can affect a man’s ability to get an erection. Both man and women who smoke may have difficulty achieving orgasm and are at higher risk of infertility. Women who smoke may experience menopause an earlier age than non-smoking women. In 1932 the United States Public Health Services (USPHS) initiated a non-therapeutic experiment with human subjects who lived in Tuskegee, Macon County in Alabama.1 The study was named “Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male”; a notorious medical experiment that has become a byword for racist and blatant disregard for human rights that takes place in the name of science.5 The goal of the study was to determine the natural course of untreated, latent syphilis in African American males. In this study, 400 syphilis-infected males were enrolled and were matched with a control group of 200 uninfected subjects. Both groups were not permitted to receive medical treatment from local hospitals or physicians. The local hospitals were
I work at Sonora Regional Medical Center and this week, I have been working at a pediatric clinic and I have learned certain things about circumcisions and when it should be performed on a baby boy. A circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin and, on infants, it is performed within the first few day after birth. It has been found by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), that the benefits of a circumcisions in newborns, outweigh the risks of it, but when the boys age more, it does not necessarily need to be done unless there is a medical reason to do so. There are many benefits to a circumcision including a reduced risk of urinary tract infections, a reduced risk of sexually transmitted diseases in men, reduced risk of penile
A middle ground is defiantly possible for this situation. I do believe that overall FGM is immoral and completely wrong, but it is a little different when it comes to culture. The short page says, “Members of both cultures were horrified when they learned of the other’s apparently barbaric way of treating their dead,” after the comparison of how the Greeks and the Callatian Indians manage their dead. I think that this can also relate to the topic of FGM because in our western world this topic is absurd, but to them it is something they have rendered since the beginning of
Pro-Choice “77% of Anti-Abortion Leaders are men, 100% of them will never be pregnant” (Barbara Kruger). Whether to continue or end a pregnancy, has been a long debated topic, extending long after the Roe v. Wade case that went all the way to the Supreme court (ProCon). Abortion is defined as the intentional termination of a pregnancy, frequently performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy (Oxford University Press). Each year, over one million women in America chose to have an abortion (WebMD). What would happen if that right to choose was taken away?
Abortion is one of the most controversial topics of all times. There are two types of abortion, Spontaneous which takes place naturally and induced which this essay will mainly present. Induced abortion is defined by the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. I believe that abortion should be legalised and accepted in all countries for different reasons such as; it 's cruel for raped women to go through with pregnancy, The mother has the right to choose for herself as it is her body not anyone else’s, a young girl is not ready for the responsibilities of womanhood and finally the health of the woman is more important.
Other people pierce their body for religious beliefs or spiritual needs, traditions, for self-expression, for sexual pleasure and to rebel. People has different interpretations in terms of doing the body piercing in order to express themselves. Our body is like a temple, but for some, they use their body to express themselves other way around, because for them doing body piercing is a statement
The few personal stories from the women who experienced circumcision offer powerful additions to the horrifying nature of genital mutilation and how the poorly done operation forever ruins the women’s hygiene and health. The result of Soraya Mire’s choice to only showcase the graphic parts of female circumcision takes away the cultural meaning and importance of the practice. Soraya Mire’s strong opinion on female circumcision relates closely with the Western approach to viewing external cultures and disagreeing with practices that
Indeed human rights have failed to achieve its goals in many countries around the globe due to economical and political diversities. According to Himalayan Foundation, 20,000 Nepali girls are enslaved. The recent Rohingya refugee crisis and genocide by Burma has questioned human rights defenders. WHO reports say that around 125 million girls and women were victimized of Female Genital Mutilation in 29 countries in Africa, Middle East and Asia. Surprisingly more than 2000 victims of FGM have received treatment at London Hospitals in last three years, reported by Martin Bentham in ‘London Evening Standard’, 2013.
Informative Speech: Female Genital Mutilation Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about female genital mutilation and where the controversy of it all lies. Central Idea: Female Genital Mutilation is a tradition in certain parts of the world. Most of the time these procedures aren 't carried out safely and the final outcome of the girls that have been mutilated are to work as sex slaves. INTRODUCTION (Attention Getter)This is Kizibianca of kenya, africa. At a mere fifteen years old she was woken up at 5 am and led outside of her hut by the the local traditional brothers and female elders.
It’s done in various parts of Asia, Africa, and parts of the Middle East. Typically, the clitioris is removed from the female with no medical personnel and is often unsanitary. An outsider may see this as a violation of the female genitals, which makes it unlawful. However, it is common in these cultures. Whether it is right or wrong is a matter of opinion.
The termination of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own is called abortion. Nowadays, abortion is so common that more than forty percent of all women will perform abortion at some time of their reproductive lives. While this numbers are scary, what is more troublesome is that several countries support this dreadful act. Society is now considering this act of murder each day more normal, and position the mother 's rights before the baby´s rights. Killing an adult is no different than killing a fetus, both are genetically unique and were made by God.
