A total of 44 states have not legalized assisted suicide leaving 6 states remaining, those 6 states have legalized assisted suicide. My personal opinion is that your life should be your choice it should be your choice if you are in suffering from pain it should be your choice if you want to end it or not. Assisted suicide is a chance to end the pain when you can no longer control it because your family doesn't want to see you in that much pain and nobody should have to live every day knowing that they are suffering and can no longer handle the pain
The medical field has expanded extremely, we are now capable of so much more we can take a failing heart and make it brand new. We have made it possible to end the pain that is slowly killing someone with the touch of a button Barnard, Christaan one said Barnard, Christaan. Good Life/Good Death. Englewood Cliffs: Prentice, 1980. I think this shows that when life comes to an end one shall be at peace with oneself. Oneself should know how important the medical field is and how much that the medical field can do, we are able to end the pain of someone suffering from a terminal illness

It should be your choice if you are in that much pain when you can no longer live with the way you are, the way that your legs are now as skinny as your arms, you can no longer hold your food in. Jim carrey once said “ when my life ends I hope I am not still starving” I think this shows that at the end of your life the should be no reason why we should be dying because we are starving that's just not right it should be our choice if we live in pain or die in
Assisted Suicide: A Controversial Topic Assisted suicide, also known as physician-assisted death (PAD), has been a topic of controversy for decades. In the last decade, a controversial topic in the medical field in America is about Physician-assisted suicide. Many citizens are questioning where the line stands in whether or not this goes against medical ethos, and if it is a right for terminally ill patients. While there are benefits and deficits to either side, I believe everyone should have the right to choose to participate in assisted suicide when battling a terminal illness. While a handful of states in America that include, Oregon, Washington, California, Colorado, Vermont, and with court decision, Montana have already passed the Death with Dignity Act, it is still not easily accessed and there are a lot of parameters regarding the Act ("Death with Dignity"). In Oregon you have to meet certain criteria.
Our life is all about making choices and when a terminally ill patient decides it is their time to go then their doctor can help provide drugs to help reduce the suffering and kill
The moral concerns of Physician assisted suicide are equally sensitive and provocative; it is high on the debatable platform with other controversial topics such as abortion after three months. Many claimed that a physician assisted suicide is morally acceptable on behalf of a person who is dying and decided to end the agonizing pain and distress willing. Additionally, the doctor’s responsibility to ease the person’s pain and suffering, therefore, validates the aid provided. These debates are based on countless agreements on the person’s independence, hence, identifies the rights of capable people to decide how they are going to die and what time, especially while dealing with a deadly illness. In contrast, others have disputed the fact the physician assisted suicide is immoral and will be in conflict responsibility of the doctor, which is to save lives Also, they say if physician assisted suicide becomes legal , the chances for elder abuse will increased , mistreatment on the disabled and people living in poverty .
Is suicide every okay? Most would say definitely not. But if a person has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and the only few months of life left that they have will be filled with hospital visits, medications and treatments that only bring more pain? If that person was able to die at home peacefully going to sleep in their own bed with their family, friends and loved ones by their side would that still be viewed as wrong or immoral?
In 1789, the Constitution was finalized by the people of the United States. Euthanasia is only legal in five U.S states and in three countries. Many have debated whether euthanasia should be legalized in more states. This debate, as split as a fork in the road, is over whether or not this approach should be legalized worldwide on stances regarding religion, ethics, and self choice. I see this as being extremely unethical on both religious and social morality levels.
