George Orwell; the author to Animal Farm, wrote this book addressing the political issues that were calling to his attention. Each animal that was included into the story represented a real person in their time. It is said that the main protagonists in this story are the two pigs who have embodied Joseph Stalin, and Leon Trotsky. The pigs were considered to be the smartest on the farm, the carried out plans to build the windmill, and had put their ideas into shaping the new society on the farm. Dogs were brought in; so when an animal would disagree, the dogs would attack. By doing this the animals were always fearful, and they could no longer say what they believed was right. At the beginning of this book, it showed a utopian society where everyone was happy. That utopian society was quickly shut down after one of the leaders had been chased off by the dogs. On page 33 it shows The Seven Commandments which is listed as: “1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy 2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend. 3. No animal shall wear clothes. 4. No animal shall sleep in a bed. 5. No Animal shall drink alcohol. 6. No animals shall kill any other animal. 7. He also wrote the animals going through various events, which were connected to real life events that had been or were occuring. He targeted things in such a way that enabled people to read it but have to be connected to the book, so that way it made them ponder about the actions that were taken in the ways it was. This book made readers question and criticize about what the animals were doing and seeing if it were fit for the best. Even if the book was published in a distant time, it is still relating to today’s problems which show that something needs to be changed about the way governments
