I applied as a public health nurse at the California Department of Public Health Licensing and Certification Division. In this position, our responsibilities included regulation of health care facilities that provide skilled needs such as Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health Agencies, Hospice Agencies, Dialysis Centers, General Acute Care Hospital and Ambulatory Care Centers. We conduct investigations of complaints and entity reported incidents and perform annual recertification survey. This entail obtaining information through observation, interview and record review. As a result, patient care will be provided structure and strict compliance with federal regulations, laws and local statutes.
