The purpose of a reliquary is to have a container for relics. These may be or claim to be something or actual physical remains of saints ,such as bones ,pieces of clothing ,or some object associated with saints or other religious figures. As for ours we used symbols or things that we find close or important to us. For my relic I chose to put my grandpa and moms matching necklaces that that gave me in my interior. The reason for this is that my mom,my grandpa and I were all really close. We always would talk and even wake up at the same time so that we could sit down and eat ice cream together. My grandpa was a great guy and him and my mom were best friends ,just like her and I. when my grandpa died though ,my mom was crushed ,and so was I. He was our best friend. The pillars holding it up are painted copper with wire raed around to show that i'm strong ,and the bottom is filled with saying and spirals to show my love for helping others and making people feel better when nothing feels right. The reason I chose such a diverse exterior is because there is a lot of people in my life and they all see me differently ,strangers ,friends ,acquaintances. They all see me as a person from their own eyes. I do dress very girly at times ,I love clothes and shoes and make up ,i'm a girl and I do girly things. In the article “Religions: The Basics” by Malory Nye talks about female writers, inequality and the distinction between males and females. In the article it mentioned how the term Androcentricism assumes that the male’s perspective and experiences are the most vital and key point of reference. I agree with Mary Daly that the concept of belief in a male deity leads to profound sexual inequalities. The reason I agree with Mary Daly is due to the fact there is a lot of gender differences and that women are viewed as inferior, while men are more superior. It is surprising that in western culture, they can’t go a day without woman-male distinction.

There are roughly 4,200 religions in the world. A religion is sometimes used to adjust someone's faith or beliefs, and overall their life. During a time period that was present around 400 years ago, many colonists sought religious and economic freedom and decided to break away from the British government to form an independent nation. This area they inhabited is now called, the United States. In this time of great change, the colonists had to completely formulate a new government. Since one of the major motives for breaking off of Britain was for freedom of religion, it ended up becoming a good base for the building up of a new government. Eighteenth-century Europe witnessed multiple actions taken upon religion. Revolts against, as well as in support of religion were contrasted simultaneously in a period of time, parallel to one-another. With these factors in motion, multiple individuals were subjected to a change in their lifestyle which, in that time, was greatly influenced by religion. In the later years of the eighteenth-century, the French Revolution arose, and the Roman Catholic Church was greatly challenged. Moreover, Enlightened thinkers greatly criticized religion as it would impede progression and innovation, particularly the sciences and new ideas.
Ideas about religion began to rapidly change from the mid-sixteenth century to the late-eighteenth century. The Protestant Reformation began to challenge the longstanding ideas of the Catholic Church, creating numerous sects of Christianity in the process. In Spain, the Inquisition controlled religious thought and persecuted those who believed differently. For quite some time, religion was controlled and monitored, as it was unacceptable to share a religious view that did not coincide with the majority. However, war, social thought, and change in laws generated an increase in religious toleration.
To some people religion is their entire way of life while to others it is just a side thought. But to almost everyone religion affects their lives everyday in some way, whether it just be in the back of a mind. Religion affects the lives of its followers by telling them the rights and wrongs, giving them someone to follow, and explaining why things happen to allow its followers to gain access to some variation of heaven. Religion affects its followers lives by telling them the rights and wrongs of life. In order for Christians and Jews to please God, they need to not kill, steal, or commit adultery among other things (Doc 1).
Did you know that statistics show that the average American spends 40 hours a week watching TV (Chambers, 2015)? Some Americans even spent 121 billion minutes a month on social media. Those numbers astonish me. I think before my starting college I may have heard TV that much at least, but I was and am too active to sit while listening to watch it. As for the Facebook, I was active, possible not this much, but some of my friends think I 've died because I no longer have time to write my funny daily novels in the life of Rhondaism 's, as it is referred to; or sadly even say hi.
