In the past I have helped my local Catholic Church. I did many hours of community service serving out dinner to Catholics, helping set up games for the youth, helping set up and clean up yard sales, and helping anyone in need of assistance. Currently I try to help students around me with homework, notes, and helping them understand a specific subject more. In the future I would love to donate to as much charities as I can. As I would have a stable job, I would be able to help those who are less fortunate by donating. I would also try to be involved with my future community. I will try to help as much as I can to make sure out community will be a safe and healthy
Starting his journey to greatness early, young Felipe Martinez began playing teeball the age of 7. “I did it on my own, I wanted to try something new so I tried teeball,” Martinez explained while sitting at a small desk in the corner of the classroom in his dapper bow tie and button up shirt, ready for his football game later that night. Martinez has been playing sports ever since he was seven. Currently he is part of the Marshall Redhawks football team, where he plays: corner, linebacker, and receiver.
What makes me more appreciative for receiving this scholarship is my financial issues that I am having this semester. In order for me to enroll for next semester to graduate in the spring, I need to
My full name is Angel Jose Garcia, I am 16 years old and I am attending Grace M. I plan to graduate high school in the spring of 2018 and then further my education by attending either a community college or even better, a four year university if God wishes me to. The College JumpStart scholarship would be an utter blessing for my path as my siblings and I do not obtain a significant age gap between us, inducing that we 're all attending college around the same time. The scholarship would really make life easier for my parents and I by saving us a significant amount of time and stress with such a great opportunity to at least pay for some books.
Ding! “Mom the timers done!” Anayelli rushes to the oven as if she was a Speedy Gonzalez. We all thought it would be a good idea to attack her because we wanted to get our bread fast. But since Anayelli thought differently then we all did, she decided it would be a good idea to smack our hands with a spatula.
One day a kid named Kai hernandez was riding a bus to school. He sat alone listening to music . Kai would look out the window and think about his future and want he wanted to be when he grew up. Kai always liked challenges so he wanted to be a radiologist, professional football player, or a baseball player. He knew these jobs were hard to achieve.
Constantly I question myself about my past, remembering all the marvelous and dreadful moments i´ve had. Every moment has made me more stronger, maybe more humble or more determined, each of these moments have taught me something that makes me the person (who) I am today. At the age of 8, I was a high performance athlete. Tennis was instilled by my father from an early age and since that moment this sport became my passion.
This scholarship shows the well-deserved recognition for thriving scholars. If I win this scholarship, I will be an example for my younger brother since his depression had been affecting his abilities in school. I will also be an example to my younger peers who look up to me for inspiration to be the best in everything that they
Both of my parents grew up in Mexico, and both were very poor from their childhood. My mother, Guillermina Diaz, was born and raised in Tepatitlan, Mexico, whom was the 2nd child out of the 6 in total, with 3 sisters and 2 brothers. They were so poor that at the age of 11, she had to work with her mother and sisters, thus unable to go and finish high school. However, my father, Guillermo Diaz, born and raised in Ejupla, Mexico, had to worst of it. As for him, he was literally homeless, and practically had to be the man in his family of 10, 5 sisters and 5 brothers.
Marvine Rodriguez I have learned that i am not as familiar with the computer programs as i thought. I am also feeling unorganized, the start date came faster then I thought. I now know I need to prepare myself for the week. Two days in and I am already feeling more comfortable with everything. Although I still have some anxiety, because I still have a lot to learn.
As American lights illuminate the stunning skyline of opportunity, we, as Americans, don't always bask in the glory of this powerful glow. Within the nonfiction novel Enrique's Journey by Sonia Nazario, a teenage boy, Enrique, sums up the courage of a thousand men to travel through treacherous trials to find his mother in America. Showing more bravery than I ever will muster in my entire lifetime, Enrique has made a deep impression upon me about perseverance; however, with his determination to reach his mother, I was surprised with how many times he was forced to begin his perilous journey again. In modern day American society, we witness hardship and a struggle to start again on the movie screens, but we are comforted by the distance that is
This year I will make a difference by saving water. I will do this by taking shorter showers and by drinking the full cup of water instead of throwing half of the water away. I will also help others if they need help. For example, if someone drops their stuff in the hallway I will help them pick it up. I would like to help other students because I think that everyone should succeed.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be an Occupational Therapist. I always want to do things to help others in any way I can. Personally I have witnessed what this occupation can do to change the lives of others. To reach my goal, I realize I must pursue a six year college education which will begin with the fall 2017 semester. I am very excited about my future and I feel as if your scholarship will help me reach my goal.

Statement for Scholarship This writing is to address why I believe I would be a great candidate for a first year study scholarship to the UNLV Masters in Nursing Program. I have never actually applied for scholarship funding before. I have always worked to finance my schooling, received Pell grant funding or taken out student loans. I believe that furthering my education is one of only a few reasons to go into debt, and because of that I have been willing to take on loans as a result.
