These days, schools are getting more violent, with fights and other types of assault. On a website called, My Security Training, it states, “Whether it’s kids fighting with each other, teenagers harassing their teachers, or professors crossing physical boundaries with their students, security guards can potentially protect schools from attacks of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse by working to prevent these acts.”(My Security Training). The EHS security prepares for fights, When we asked a security guard how he would end a fight between students, he told us that he would separate the two students, then take them to the vice principal for their punishment. Also, security prepares for other types of conflicts involving school staff or students. Security does loads of work to get ready for the worst, whether it be an altercation between a student and a teacher, or physical conflict between two

Stop Injustice, End "Stop and Frisk" Do you want to feel discriminated against? No? If you do not want to feel discriminated against then stop "stop and frisk". "Stop and frisk" is a law that caused much trouble for the people of the United States and the people of planet earth. This law allows police and officers to stop blameless people and frisk them.
Teachers should not be armed in schools because the could not handle a real situation, and the liability is too much of a risk. To elaborate, it is widely agreed that a student’s well-being is a teacher’s concern. For six to eight hours every day for 5 days a week, the life of the student is in the teacher’s hands. However, a teacher has never been expected to arm themself to protect a student until now.
Teachers could feel more comfortable in their classrooms if they knew they could protect themselves and their students from violent threats. Schools being a gun free zone are a target for violent
Your child could be caught up in the next school shooting, and be killed. If only your school cared enough for their students and had a security guard, they would have been able to prevent the whole thing. Schools today still need more security, but how much security they have today, and what more security can and will prevent. Schools need more security today, we can reduce how many people die to school shootings each
Emmaline Hughes Mrs. Toews English 1 4 Oct. 2015 Are guns really the safest option? Are my children safe when I send them off to school? This question is one of the many that parents are asking themselves as the new law in some states is being passed about teachers carrying firearms in their classrooms. There are definitely two sides to the argument of teachers carrying weapons in the school. One side of the argument is yes, teachers should be armed at all times.
It is immediately implied that safety and behavior is an issue there since it is anticipated that students are or will be bringing weapons with them to school. In addition to outside onlookers getting some negative feedback, the actual students attending the school have given inputs of not agreeing with the idea of having metal detectors in schools. According to the Ny Daily News website, students feel unwelcomed and see metal detectors as barriers to their school. Knowing that a school is anticipating the entry of weapons does not change the fact that there are students or individuals expected to attack at
Now, wherever I go, I have to be careful and always have a trusted adult with me. You can never know when someone is going to do something crazy or where it’ll be. Once in awhile, my school has surprise lockdown drills. These practices prepare me in case someone comes onto my school campus and has a gun. Also, to prevent this even more, my school has a gate around it and if you want to come on the campus, you must be buzzed in by a school administrator.
Over the years, school safety has become more of an issue in the United States. Many have argued over the possible solutions for school safety. But through all the others, the only feasible solution is the use of metal detectors. Metal detectors have been known to increase safety when placed in an area that could be threatened. Metal detectors can protect schools from violence, especially from school shootings.
Resolutions are vehemently being sought to protect schools from possible attacks and to objectively eradicate deadly school shootings altogether. Commonly, security officers are placed in schools in hopes that increased surveillance will inhibit violent outbreaks (Crawford and Burns 2016). Mixed evaluations have been found in association with security officers, while some benefits reportedly transpire, experiences of disparaging consequences remain a regrettable reality as well (Crawford and Burns 2016). Additionally, active shooter drills routinely occur at schools across the nation, however, as Jillian Peterson and James Densley report in their CNN article titled, “The Usual Approach to School Security Isn’t Working,” studies indicate that
Teachers did not go into their profession to be babysitters, and they certainly didn 't go into it to be security guards. Now society is trying to force them to be both. How anyone could possibly secure those weapons so that students could never obtain them would be a nightmare- and unrealistic? And to think that if a school full of teenagers can access a weapon in every classroom that violence would decrease is absurd. There are many negatives to teachers owning guns such as: cost of training and weapons, teachers turning against their students, and keeping teacher who has the gun a secret.
Truth be told, there is very few ways to prevent an attack on a school. Merriam Webster defines the word Prevent as “to stop something from happening or existing.” This means that the police have to know beforehand if an attack on a school is to be prevented and arrest the attacker before the attack happens. For clarification, the reason I am using the term “an attack” instead of “a shooting” is that an attack can happen at the school that does not involve a gun. School attacks that have not been prevented can only be reacted to.
When one hears "school security" these days, the word that goes with it is "tighten." Indeed, given both external threats and unruly (sometimes violent) student behavior, it makes sense to think that the most sensible course of action is to err on the side of more stringent measures, harsher sanctions and less permissive administration. It largely comes down to liability - whenever an individual with a history of troubled or criminal behavior snaps or becomes involved in an incident severe enough to attract government or media attention, many of the questions asked in the aftermath are variations on "why was this person not in jail. " The same applies to schools, where administrators often end up having to justify themselves to parents and
