Macbeth and Banquo encountered three weird sisters and the weird sisters told Macbeth,"All hail Macbeth, hail to thee ,thane of Cawdor.! Macbeth being someone who doesn't want anymore for himself, and doesn't think he should be anything else but what he is now unless he earns it. He begins to think of having more that what he has right now. Banquo asks the witches what would happen to them. The three weird sister tell him,"Lesser than Macbeth, and greater, Not so happy, yet much happier." Macbeth is thinking about how he is going to be king when the present king is still alive, he talks to his wife Lady Macbeth when he gets back to the castle about this. Macbeth and Banquo see the witches. Macbeth overhears how Macbeth is the thane of Cawdor and Glamis and chases after because he was intrigued and wanted to find out more.
When macbeth is promoted, he goes back to the castle to talk with Lady Macbeth. They make a plan to kill the king. To do so the have to wait for it to be night. Right before Macbeth kills the king he sees a floating dagger that is covered in blood, “Is this a dagger which I see before me” (act 2 scene 1). Then, Macbeth kills king duncan but the immediately regrets it.
In 1606 Shakespeare wrote the play "Macbeth" for king of Great Britain, James I, descendant of Scottish nobleman Banquo. James I was the son of Mary queen of Scots, a catholic who tried to assassinate her cousin Queen Elizabeth. Mary was executed for her attempt and her son was taken into the royal home and raised Protestant. Since Elizabeth had no children when she died James was named heir, the Catholics were excited at the prospect of a catholic ruler, but despite his mother 's religion he was raised protestant and he ruled protestant.
Macbeth tried to control his future by killing Duncan in order to become king; he then kills anyone who somehow knew about the murder of Duncan. Macbeth in the beginning visits the witches, who tell him that he will become king, but he has others in his way of doing so. Lady Macbeth then encourages him to do whatever he has to do in order to get Macbeth. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth then plan the murder of Macbeth, and plan to frame the killing on the guards.
The Thane of King Duncan, Macbeth hears a prophecy that he himself will become king later on in the future after King Duncan. This then leads to Macbeth being overcome by greed. Since Macbeth greeds to be king so bad, he murders King Duncan and takes his place of the throne. Macbeth starts to live with so much guilt and fear that he commits even more murders to have his power safe. Macbeth is so confident in the prophecies that his life comes to a downfall and he gets killed by the people he did wrong.
People's decisions about their actions can reveal their true character. Macbeth's true personality had revealed when the three witches spoke with him and Banquo about the prophecies. Eager to have power, Macbeth had chosen to make them come true while Banquo had let faith be. Macbeth easily convinced had decided to follow the prophecies that led to him going crazy and murdering anyone he had felt threatened by which reveals his true character. Lady Macbeth is power hungry for the throne and she will do anything to achieve her goal. Her pleasure of having the thought of killing Duncan is revealed. These murderous thoughts that run through her mind shows how desperate she is to acquire power. Although it is the beginning of the play, her dark ambitions sets a dark tone for her character in the play. This coincidentally adds to the assurance of Macbeth’s prophecy which is that Macbeth will become king, but King Duncan is still alive.
By Macbeth wanting to take the easy road of not having any competitor's, his moral compass is questioned. By including Banquo in Macbeth, Shakespeare makes it possible for Macbeth’s flaws to be illustrated. It is from these flaws, that one can understand his interaction with those around
In play Macbeth, Shakespeare reveals that an individual’s great desire for power will lead him/her to perform consequential deeds that will scar his/her conscience and change the outcome of his/her life eternally. Macbeth is informed by three witches that he is going to become king and this initiates Macbeth’s thought of becoming powerful. Macbeth doesn’t act on his thoughts until he tells his wife, Lady Macbeth, that he could become king. Lady Macbeth is extremely power hungry and does all she can to convince Macbeth to be just as desirable as her. Together, they come up with a plan to murder King Duncan, so that Macbeth can become king like the witches foretold.
The story takes place in Scotland where the king Duncan hears the news about his two generals Macbeth and Banquo, they have defeat two different army’s one in Ireland and the other in Norway. After returning from the battle field Macbeth and Banquo they encounter three witches as they tell Macbeth a prophesy that he will become king but before he becomes king, Macbeth was going to be name thane of Cawdor and they also tell Banquo that he will never be king himself but his sons will be kings of Scotland. After the three witches finished telling the prophesy they disappear in the air. Macbeth and Banquo couldn’t believe the prophesy at the beginning they thought it was only a child’s play but right after they got to the castle of king Duncan,
Banquo notices Macbeth in a daze after hearing of his rise to power. Intrigued at how Macbeth is in such a state, Banquo asks the witches that if they can truly “…look into the seeds of time,” to speak to him as well. He says to them, “Speak then to me, who neither beg nor fear, / Your favours nor your hate,” (I. iii. 60-61).
Macbeth is a brilliant solider and patriotic to King Duncan. The king refers to Macbeth as, “Valiant Cousin,” thus showing that the two have a very close relationship. Macbeth is faced with a moral crisis that he should kill King Duncan and take to the throne or leave him and carry on being the Thane of Cawdor. Lady Macbeth entices him to commit the murder because she is just as ambitious as her husband and she persuades him by questioning his manhood. She even calls upon the dark spirits to take away her soft womanliness.
Macbeth and Banquo were seen as relatively similar individuals who acted with nobility. At the beginning, they both were loyal military leaders who fought hard for their king and their country. However, after their encounter with the Three Weird Sisters, they began to show their differences through the actions they make in regards to prophecies they were given. Macbeth and Banquo were both heroic, noble and brave leaders who led their armies to victory numerous of times. They were loyal subjects to the king, and they lived their lives continuously fighting for him as well as the country.
