Getting great grades sets you on the path to a great big world of opportunities. On the other hand, service, character and leadership help separate the stellar, from the great in the final determination. The National Honors Society is an organization looking to recruit all the stellar students, and these kids are the ones who improve the schools and communities of this nation. Kids with character help keep kindness flowing around the world. Along with character, kids that volunteer and provide service for their communities help improve the lives for everyone around them. Leadership helps show that these kids can lead their communities and this country into a great future. If I am able to be apart of The National Honors Society, I will strive
I understand that to qualify for National Honor Society you have to be strong in academics. I have worked hard to be where I am today. I've been on the gold honor roll every semester. I enjoy school and I'm blessed that I have the opportunity to attend such a great
The National Honor Society serves as a symbol of prestige for the student body of Long Branch High School. The leaders who are part of the National Honor Society program are made, not born. Leadership cannot be taught, but learned through experience. I believe anyone can be a leader but being a leader requires character, It requires courage.
Leadership, a drive to serve, and a strong character are crucial aspects of those who wish to live successful and prosperous lives, and unsurprisingly, are desirable traits for those in National Honor Society. Leadership is the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide others in forming a favorable outcome. Instances that I have exhibited leadership include being the captain for two years in a row for Black History Quiz Bowl and being both a counselor and teacher at a 4-H summer camp. The ability to serve helps bring out a person’s humility, selflessness, and deeper understanding of how the world interacts. Character is a culmination of traits that make up a well-rounded person, such as being altruistic or possessing comradeship.
The four pillars of the National Honor Society consists of leadership, scholarship, service, and character. These characteristics must be possessed by an individual in order to be a member of the society. I believe that I possess all the these four qualities and should become a member of National Honor Society. Leadership is when someone has a positive influence on people and brings out the best in them. I am a leader of the junior class student body as being a member of student council.
As an immigrant who has worked diligently to improve my quality of life, each pillar of the National Honor Society has contributed to my development and success. As a first generation American and future college student, I want to use the lessons I have learned from NHS to make my parents proud, honor their sacrifices, and revere the country that has given me the chance to improve my life. Service has not only humbled and matured me as I have worked at a children’s summer camp for five summers and have led church small groups, but has also helped me realize what I want to do with my life. My service, which has primarily been with underprivileged children, combined with my father’s chronic illness that I have witnessed throughout my life,
Throughout my educational career at Big Lake Middle School, I have definitely acted as a leader. Going on to high school I intend to continue leading the community. Though I will only be a freshman in
I was taught to work hard and never give up. Leadership is also a very important pillar in the National Honor Society. A leader is a person who guides others with their actions or words and influences others in a positive way. I feel that I am a leader in many ways. I participate in many different
The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school.
I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
The National Honor Society is an opportunity for many students, who are well educated with dreams and leaderships skills, to upgrade themselves. The sole purpose of this organization is to endeavor leaders in different societies to help out their community. It will help colleges to notify the leaders when looking at students’ resumes, for those students in this organization will be the few who are well-developed leaders in their school. Since this will be the first time to be given the opportunity to contribute to this organization, I may not know everything about the requirements in which I need to manage.
Acquiring leadership skills along with a strong character and the sense to serve others is vital. A leader should be resourceful, dependable, selfless, and a good problem solver. I have led in many ways- inside and outside of school. Last year as a tenth grader, I was class secretary for Class Council.
One of my volunteer opportunities includes raking leaves for a senior citizen in my town. Leadership is something that can always be viewed as an opportunity. One of the clubs that I am a part of is called Junior Warriors Club and recently there was an event called the 8th Grade Nipmuc Showcase where eighth graders get a sense of the high school. I decided this would be an excellent leadership opportunity. I met with so many incoming freshmen next year.
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. To recap, it is having a well-rounded education with just the right academics and activities best suited to your
The National Honors Society places a strong emphasis on the cornerstone traits of character, leadership, and service within the school and outside of school. I have met, and exceeded these qualities by being honest, assisting others, and participating in school activities. My character has always been an important aspect within my life. This is because character is comprised of honesty, selflessness, and compassion. No matter what the situation is, it has always been important to me to be honest with not just those around me, but with myself.
