As women’s positions in leadership continue to grow in our world, I find that my interest and confidence in taking on leadership positions in and out of school has grown as well. In school, I have become more involved in being a leader in different organizations. From being Vice President of the Literati and captain of the Girl’s Soccer team there are so many different ways to be a leader. Being a leader in these organizations allows me to share my passions with others, and inspire them to do more. As Vice President of the Literati, I encourage members to share their enthusiasm towards English with the rest of the community. This also gives me the chance to encourage my peers to be more confident in their abilities, share their interests with others and keep the club running smoothly. This has given me the opportunity to share my love of the sport that I have been playing my entire life. On the field, I am able to lead by example by always working hard, playing fair and encouraging my teammates. My leadership position allowed me to teach my teammates what I know about soccer, inspire them to work hard to reach their goals, and help create a more positive soccer community. As a captain, I have set an effective role model for my team and other female athletes at our school. I have different concepts than others, yet incorporating others' desires or opinions on something is enjoyable to me. I enjoy hearing how all humans have their outlooks and point of view about everything and how we as human beings can differ and find common ground. The National Junior Honor Society will be an opportunity for me to show that even with a learning disability like dyslexia. Hard work strong determination and willingness you can overcome any obstacles you face. I know I can be a valuable member of the NJHS because, I carry all the qualities required by this organization: character, citizenship, leadership and service.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school.

It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. National Junior Honor Society is the start of everything. This group helps set me up for my years to come. Being in the NJHS it helps me get into the one in high school, which looks really good one college applications. Having national junior honor society for both middle school and high school would give me a better chance to get into a college I really want to get into. The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. National Honor society recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of academic success, leadership, character and service. I should be in National Honor Society because I think I represent a lot of the qualities needed to be in this organization. Throughout my years in high school, I have been very involved in the band program here at Langham Creek. As a freshman, I started out in Concert 2 band.
I play soccer for the Oakridge Soccer Club. I have been playing soccer since I was five years of age. When I first started playing Soccer I had a coach who used to go by the motto “every shot u miss, is a miss towards life.” Soccer is one of the two only sports I play and when I’m on the field I feel confident in myself because, if you show courage and confidence you will achieve your goal in life and even though my goal may not be to make goal for soccer my goal is to become a Soccer leader. I want to be a captain who talks to the referees during a game when our team has a problem, concern, or question.
