Carson and Keisha Montgomery. Andy is the main character of the story and what he feels in the story, is the same way I have felt before. He is trying to overcome this fear, but there are many obstacles that try to stop him. He goes to see a psychologist and he is failing his classes even though he didn’t do the work. He is purposely trying to fail. “I cannot see the future and I cannot change the past. But the present is so heavy, I don’t think I’m going to last.” The second character I found interesting is B.J. Carson. He is the shortest among his friends and tries so hard to be in the basketball team, but never could get picked. He always tried so hard to get into the team for maybe about 4-5 years since the 7th grade. He never gives up and he always does his best to become the best. He is always feels like he doesn’t belong with his friends, because he was never in the basketball team, but somehow he was best friends with them. “Drinking in an early age had stunted my growth.” The last character I liked was Keisha. She’s Andy’s girlfriend and always tried to support him after the incident. Sometimes she would get really annoyed when Andy becomes depressed all of a sudden and she thinks that he’s getting a bit of a pain. Though she tries her best to help him not as a girlfriend but also a friend. She would always cheer him up by spending time with him and giving advices that would help him get over the death …show more content…
He finally gave up on life. He stayed home and skipped school for the day and didn’t tell his family or friends that he wasn’t going to show up. His family thought he was at school and his friends thought that he was sick at home. He didn’t know what to do. He was sitting in his bed, thinking about all the pain he had endured, with his father’s hunting rifle in his arms. “It’s not that I want to die-it’s just that I can’t stand the pain of living anymore. I just want the hurt and pain inside to go away.” He just wanted everything to stop. “So I came back here, to sit on my lumpy, linty bed spread, wishing i had never been born, stroking the smooth, cool barrel of my father’s shotgun.” He shot himself right through the head while his blood his dripping through to the floor, down to the ceiling of the downstairs
Andy faced multiple challenges in tears of a tiger but the most obvious one is the lost of his best friend Rob. He struggled with telling people how he was feeling about the accident and only opened up to very little people. I think that tears of a tiger is a great title for this book because I think it shows what Andy is like. The title is “Tears of a Tiger.”
Over time, this secret begins to affect her life. She ditches class, school, and hides in her own shell. At the end of the story, Melina is trapped with Andy again but this time she fights back. They are in a closet and Melinda says, “I reach in and wrap my fingers around a triangle of glass. I hold it to Andy Evans’s neck.

"Damnit, Johnny… Oh damnit, Johnny, don 't die, please don 't die." Johnny was the main reason I was still alive. Call him my life tank or whatever but it was the truth. I was proud of him and I never could tell him.

Football, like many sports, can be very unpredictable. You may think your receiver is wide open, but once you throw the ball they could be covered by an opponent and the ball could get intercepted. Just like many encounters you have in life, Sports can show themes of struggle and conflict. You many think some options or answers will work, but in the end, they may not. The poem "

Someone’s identity not only shapes that individual, but also the friendships one makes. Andy and Red’s contradicting identities draw them towards each other and transform their lives forever through their unique friendship. When it comes to Andy’s identity in the movie he goes through a change, arguably a growth, during his time in prison. When he is first sentenced and brought to the prison, he is very quiet and keeps to himself. Even Red says when he first saw Andy, he did not think much of him.
At that moment, he heard the door. Not the doorbell but a series of soft, polite raps, almost apologetic about the late hour. Every house has a logic, and its laws are more eloquent at night, when things occur without palliative noises. He didn’t look at his watch or jump, or suspect that he was hearing things. He simply got up from his chair and walked toward the door without turning on any lights; when he found himself standing face-to-face with his father.
“There was a pain in my head and my body was growing heavy. The shot had left me deaf and dumb. That’s it, I said to myself. It’s done. I’ve killed.
The faint buzzing of an old street light in the distance was the only sound that filled the air. The loud dogs that paced yellow lawns and fenced in porches were deep asleep. It was as melancholy as it could get. My hand trembled, I looked down at the paper weapon clasped between my fingers. I lifted my hand and pressed the cold cigarette to my chapped lips, long ago accepting the fact that I 'd never remember the taste of his mouth, in the same way I didn 't remember the last time my life wasn 't anything more than a huge fucking shit show.
