What happens when people are bored? Do they change in anyway? Yes of course, people act differently when they are bored. The definition of boredom is an emotional or psychological state experienced when a person is left without anything to do. They do not feel interested in their surroundings or they feel like the day is dull and tedious. Teen boredom can often lead to bad behavior.
Boredom can result in teenagers neglecting their schoolwork, extracurricular activities and chores. They feel lethargic and unmotivated. This results in low energy levels, loss of concentration and lack of motivation. To look for ways to increase their energy levels, teens may participate in inappropriate and illegal activities. As reported on CBSnews.com many teens don’t know how to deal with their lethargy, so the likelyhood of smoking, drinking and the use of illigal drugs increases. There are teenagers who learn how to deal with boredom without getting into trouble. Trouble can be exciting but so can other activities. When boredom makes your mind race you can get creative and learn to entertain yourself without getting into mischief. There are people who say that teens commit crimes because they are bored but perhaps it wasn’t boredom that caused them to commit a crime, it was a lack of morality. It depends on your personality and how strong your morals are to break the feeling of boredom without getting into trouble.
However, I disagree with this argument because these ideas may have some merit but teens can be impulsive and get into mischief before they are able to stop themselves. People with morality still seek excitement when they are bored and may lose sight of their morals for the instant satisfaction of that excitement. Just because a person does a bad act impulsively doesn’t mean they don’t have
