“But the fact is, Mr.Chairman, for all the challenges the Postal Service of the 21st century faces, it still retains its traditional place as a key cog in how American business conduct their affairs and how Americans all across the land communicate.”-John M.McHough. What McHough is saying is that even if the USPS has challenges to the new times, it is still vital for Americans to communicate with each other via mail. The United States Postal Service (USPS) is to be eradicated if it fails to meet modern needs. The USPS in recent years has seen a sharp decline for numerous reasons such as the use of the internet for email, the lack of funds to pay employees and for offices. Despite this many still depend on the USPS to get mail especially those who come from low income areas. Some of these ideas such as, rebranding, closing some branches, and to advertise with coupons as Stone explains “A company’s Brand is its most valuable tool, or its biggest liability.” Stone believes rebranding could help save the USPS and it could if the USPS redesigned both their logo and slogan, which could bring in a new generation into using physical mail. From Stone we saw there could be a big and yet simple way to save the USPS.

“Sending,Getting ‘Real’ Mail Still Magic” By Kevin Cullen explains a change that could help save the USPS billions of dollars. As Cullen points out “Eliminating Saturday mail delivery would save forty billion dollars over a decade. Potter also wants to close and consolidate 154 post offices.” As we read we saw how much the usps would save if it eliminated Saturday mail delivery and to further save it could close and consolidate post offices saving the money from the land. Just these two ideas could help the USPS save the much needed
