Titan’s Graduation Speech Good morning COL Griffin, CSM Bolanos, SGM Jackson, distinguished guests, friends and family, and most importantly Good morning TITANS! I am honored to be standing in front of so many of you who have answered the call of their nation during a time of war. This is something that less than 1% of our nation’s population will ever do. You stand out as brave individuals and Soldiers today. Let me start of this morning by saying congratulations on a great achievement. I know all of you have put in a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication into understanding your role as a Chaplain Assistant. A role that is demanding at times and requires highly qualified Soldiers to perform it. It is fitting that you all are “TITANS”. If some of you are unaware, according to Webster’s dictionary a titan is: one that is gigantic in size or power: one that stands out for greatness of achievement. Over the past 7 weeks, you TITANS, have stood out for greatness in everything that you do. As a new member of the Chaplain Corps Branch, you have proven that you are capable of providing religious support to Soldiers in your future assignments, but do not take these skills that you have learned …show more content…

First, you need to have Devotion. The word does not have to be religious in nature but you must merely have love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for the job. This career field requires commitment to your Soldiers, Families, Leaders, and your Chaplain. There will be times where you will spend late nights with a Soldier in your unit who just needs a battle buddy to get them through a hard time. This word is a defining word in my book.
