A Texas Ranger working with Sells said he could confidently connect Sells with fifteen murders and crimes spanned across years of time(SC12). Tommy Lynn Sells had confessed while under trial for the murder of Katlyn Harris that he had committed many crimes throughout his life and that they stretched from coast to coast of the United States which later gave him the nickname, The Coast to Coast Serial Killer. While Tommy had committed many crimes only few had gone on record. Technology was not as advanced back in his time which allowed him to get away with so many crimes. He would never stay put, as he was a drifter and homeless man for the majority of his life. Sells traveled from coast to coast trying to find innocent people to become another person in his demonic acts or violence. In particular, Tommy Lynn Sells liked to go after younger women who he could easily overpower and take control of. While his killings were random and the people that he would go after were not planned, it was most always a girl. Tommy Lynn Sells said in an interview that he killed because the feeling of doing it was like a drug. He said that when you have that high from a drug you keep seeking that high and always want it. Sells had explained that he did not have emotion or remorse for the people that he killed and studies later on found that he lacked a part of the brain that normal people have which was to have regular feelings and emotions . Tommy did not possess these attributes and this is one reason why he was a ruthless killer and why he did what he did to the people he did it to.
