Tsar Bomba was the Western nickname for the Soviet RDS-220 hydrogen bomb, the most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated. Its test on 30 October 1961 remains the most powerful man-made explosion in history. Many codenames are attributed to the Tsar Bomba: Project 7000; product code 202; article designations were RDS-220, RDS-202, RN202, AN602 as well as Ivan[3] or Vanya.
