Pie Counter The name of the painting I choose is Pie Counter. The artist who created the piece of art is Wayne Thiebaud. I chose the painting because it reminds me of when my church would serve food and desserts to the people at my church. When choosing which painting I would write about, I had three choices. I decided to choose Pie Counter, which was my first choice, because I thought it would be interesting to write about a table with some of my favorite desserts. The artist, Wayne Thiebaud used oil as his medium for the painting. The painting’s measurements are 30x36 inches. I believe the subject matter of the painting is about table full of different desserts. The dominant colors Thiebaud uses in his painting are orange, yellow, white and brown. …show more content…
When I saw Wayne Thiebaud’s painting, Pie Counter, I immediately started to think about the first time I saw a table full of desserts and the pleasure I felt. Every Sunday or every other Sunday, my church would serve food to the members of the church after our long church service. I was always eager to race down stairs so that I could see the great table of desserts every child in my church would fantasize about. However, each time I tried to run downstairs, someone would always call me to do something. I could not disobey the elders at my church, so I would happily obey them, in hope of seeing the glorious table of desserts upon returning. Unfortunately, each time I would go downstairs to admire the beauty of the dessert table, all of the desserts would be gone. This happened to me four Sundays in row before I said enough is enough. One Sunday before church ended, I left out of church to sit at the top of the stairs and waited until church ended. When the service was over, I ran downstairs as fast as I could so that I could finally see the splendid dessert table. After getting my food and drink, I walked to the dessert table in amazement and stared at the notorious desserts
The Manly Art tells the story of boxing 's origins and the sport 's place in American culture. The book was first published in 1986, the book helped shape the ways historians write about American sport and culture, expanding scholarly boundaries by exploring masculinity as an historical subject and by suggesting that social categories like gender, class, and ethnicity can be understood only in relation to each other. In 2010 it was republished and features a new afterword, the author 's meditation on the ways in which studies of sport, gender, and popular culture have changed in the quarter century since the book was first published. An up-to-date bibliography ensures that The Manly Art will remain a vital resource for a new generation.
In the picture you can see a man facing his back towards the viewers, he is also wielding a Scythe which represents the grim reaper symbolizing death. The color used in the picture is dull showing the thought of death. It shows that the war is over but yet has a lasting impact on lives of people. This painting is very simple and straight forward yet it is very significant.

“In the silence of their studios, busied for days at a time with works which leave the mind relatively free, painters become like women; their thoughts can revolve around the minor facts of life and penetrate their hidden meaning.” There’s a hidden meaning or objective behind every artist’s work. We all interpret paintings differently; some art can be forms of phi phenomenon (illusion of movement created by presenting visual stimuli in rapid succession), or others could be interpreting cues such as Monocular and Binocular. We can’t fully understand what the artist is trying to present unless there is an outline, but we can surely look at the texture, colour, line and shape of each painting to get a meaning for ourselves. A person that demonstrates a form of interpreting his art is Stu Oxley.
Paul's life is hard. His brother Erik makes choices that affect him drastically. In this book, Tangerine, Edward Bloor talks about the choices people around Paul's life make and how they affect him. As it says in the story, Erik spraypaints Paul's eyes. Erik did this when Paul was just five.
The stylistic characteristic of this painting is realistic and exquisite in details. Undeniably, the composition of the painting is unique in a way that Rockwell painted the table at the central space, occupying more than half of the image. Around the table, a mutigenerational family sit closely with one another, seemingly have close kinship. The two prominent figures in the painting are the mother and father, standing at the head of the dinner table. The mother has a discreet expression, presenting a huge and succulent turkey in its place.

Leonardo Da Vinci 's The Last supper is a popular work of art that is Da Vinci 's rendition of the last supper as told in the bible. This paper will include an in depth visual analysis of the painting as it appeared on the original canvas. In this paper i plan to not only inform you , but inform myself on the many aspects of The Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci.
Thus, Magritte most likely created this canvas painting in hopes to bring awareness to the way overthinking and being psychologically overwhelmed can become suffocating, eliminating the chance for intimacy in a romantic relationship between two people. Because of this, it will cause much frustration and continuous strain. These are the things that many people were ignoring, but Magritte urged for the public to think
