I believe that ethics is very essential and easy in nursing practice in order to provide patient-centered care and maintain professional integrity. As a nurse and also nursing student, it is crucial to understand and adhere to ethical principles, such as non-maleficence,and justice. Especially, since we live in such a diverse area, it is essential to know how to put this into practice. Nurses play a vital role in addressing healthcare disparities and promoting access to quality care for all individuals. To accomplish this, nurses need to actively educate themselves about diverse cultures, beliefs, and practices to better understand their patients' needs. I can easily foster an inclusive and welcoming environment by respecting and valuing individual differences, promoting effective communication, and advocating for patients who face discrimination or lack access to care. I need to make sure that me and my peers are promoting and practicing equality in care making sure that all patients are cared for equally, especially in clinicals next semester. Along with understanding our own emotions and being aware of how we are feeling. It might be a challenge for me since many times it relies on non-verbal cues, such as facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice, which are not direct. Furthermore, I am not sure if I can interpret non-verbal cues that are critical for understanding and responding to emotions accurately. I feel like I do not have enough experience yet to be able to intensify emotions cues accurately. However, to improve emotional understanding I can focus on my own development and engagement by self-reflection and self-awareness. I can do this by taking time out for myself, getting help from peers, actively listening to patient needs, attending workshops, courses, or seminars focused on emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication.
