Wenhui Chen Ms.Moffat English 5-6 10 January 2023 Into the Wild Thesis Statement: Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, Chris McCandless was wanted for leaving their house but didn't tell their parents. Topic Sentence: He abandoned his family because he doesn’t care about his family. The first reason Chris McCandless was not justified in leaving his family without a trace was because he abandoned his family and he was angry with his father. And Chris McCandless just leaving the house he wants to do what he wants to do. In the text it says, “ he hadn’t spoken to his family in nearly two years.”(6). Because Chris was angry with family and didn't want to talk to them. And they didn’t know Chris plan’s. And he doesn’t take his family with him. He leaves by himself. Had no information for his family and his family were very worried about Chris. The second reason, Chris was reckless because he wanted by himself to leave the house. Doesn’t care about his family. Doesn’t tell anyone and leaves home secretly, he won't tell his family. In the text it says, “It was the masterful and incommunicable wisdom of eternity laughing at the futility of life and the effort of life.”(9). That Chris' life …show more content…
Doesn’t tell the parents he wants to do what and doesn't tell his parents where he goes. In the text it says, “Letter to Carine from Chris about how he was going to “divorce his parents.”(64). And that parents knew Chris is at where. Parents can find Chris. Chris doesn’t want them to go to find him and he wants by himself. Chris wants to go on trips by himself. So, he leaves without his family. In the text it says, “I’m going to divorce them as my parents once and for all and never speak to either of those idiots again as long as I live.”(64). Because he was very angry with parents and he thought his parents were idiots and didn't want to talk to them. He wants to disown his parents, and doesn't want to be their
Nobody knew Chris had plans like these. During Chris’s time working at McDonalds,
Chris just got up and abandoned his family and friends without telling them anything. His family cared about him so much, and his best friend
Chris wanted to live his life and find who he really is. He wasn’t becoming who he wanted to be. He was super smart, athletic, and went to a good college. His family had a lot of money and he did not care for money at all. He wanted his own life.
Some people may think that Chris was not justified because he did abandon his family and he told nobody that he was leaving for alaska. He also left his perfect life and many people didn't understand why. On page 2 it says “Hey Guys! This is the last communication you shall receive from me.
And then, once the time is right, with one abrupt, swift action I’m going to completely knock them out of my life. I’m going to divorce them as my parents once and for all and never speak to either of those idiots again as long as I live”. Chris McCandless lived most of his life following what his parents wanted for him, with his choice to leave it finally gave him the opportunity to choose to live whatever life he was to remake himself into someone he could be proud of and agree with. This person would become loved living on the road and loved being with nature even
this is an example on how Chris’s life changes when he leaves his house to
Also that he left because his family was abusive in his childhood made him have trauma. Some other people might also say that he wants to find the peace that he could not find when he was a child. but I disagree with this just because he is a grown man it doesn't mean that he can't make poor decisions. And if he had trauma from his childhood he could just talk and try to make their relationship better or get some money from his dad and travel somewhere good and live in peace. and freedom doesn't mean that you can do anything Chris left without telling no one which did a lot of damage to his family and wasted other people's time and resources who wanted to find
Of course the readers thinking what a terrible mom she's been, but she's really been amazing mom because she known what he's been up to the entire time. Therefore Chris should have just communicated to his mom in the first place about every little
So you have to think that Chris had to be going through a lot of hurt to see both of his parents doing that. It also
He felt suffocated by their expectations and the pressure they put on him to conform to their ideals. He wanted to break free from this and find his own path in life. In this sense, it can be argued that Chris had a valid reason for leaving his family. He wanted to discover who he truly was and what he wanted out of life, and he felt that
One reason Chris left that I agree with is because he had an abusive home. He would always hear his mom scream because she was being abused by his dad. He couldn't deal with it anymore so he left without anyone knowing where he went. Another reason he left was because he is a grown man and doesn't want to live at home anymore.
Chris and his father never really got along. A man, a son, should always have his father there for him and talk to him, not be abusive towards him; this could have been a significant reason why he did what he wanted to do. On pg.6, in talking with Jim Gallian, Chris told him “he hadn't
His dad Walt was very abusive to his family and his other family. In a documentary, Chris’s half sibling said that they would hide under the table or just hide in general whenever Walt came home to visit. Both families were scared of Walt, which is why Chris left because of childhood trauma. He had also lost respect for his dad because of an affair. Due to all this he wanted to leave the household, his parents tried buying his love back with a car but Chris declined.
He was referring to his parents at this point in the story. They wanted to buy him a new car but he refused. This was Chris separating himself from his parents and trying to be himself in the world. There was nothing wrong with
He wanted full disconnect from the world, fully he didn't want no contact with anyone. “The fact that Chris never bothered to let his family, specifically his parents, know where he was when he was gone for two years” (Jessica Robbins, 2012) she says she doesn't believe he did it on purpose but i feel like he did, the fact he found the truth about his parents is when he felt like his parents now feel about having no clue to where he may be i think he wanted to make his parents feel some of the pain he's felt so he hides himself from the very start. For instance, in the movie you
