It took a series of events for Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, to take revenge on the person responsible for his father's death, his uncle, Claudius. Instead of simply confronting Claudius, Hamlet’s strong desire for revenge resulted in the royal family being killed, including himself.
The first to die is Hamlet Senior. This is the ghost shown in the play that Hamlet encounters. He was the former king of Denmark before he was poisoned by Claudius, whose idea was to take the throne—and he did just that. He married to Hamlet’s mother, Gertrude. Claudius could have gotten away with the murder of Hamlet senior if the ghost had not appeared. However, Gertrude didn't mind at all considering the possibility of an affair before King Hamlet's murder.

Ophelia was Hamlets’ lover, but they were having complications in their relationship. Hamlets’ procedure for revenge was near, so he ought to act agile. He decided to act like a crazy person towards Ophelia. She was legitimately confused, so she ran off and told her father, Polonius, of this behavior. Polonius and Claudius talked about Hamlet and concluded that he was madly in love with her, even though it wasn’t true. Henceforth, Hamlet, still pushing for revenge, confronted his mother and scolded her for being rude and dishonest. He was furious with her. Not only did she forget her original true love, she had also forgotten what true love really was. Claudius was loyal and trustworthy to his wife, although she also didn’t care that he had passed. Hamlet went on to explain to her that his father was the best one yet and that she had neglected him. The ghost stated that Hamlet must obtain revenge for his death, and Hamlet agreed, saying: “Haste me to know't, that I, with wings as swift As meditation or the thoughts of love, May sweep to my revenge.” (p. 25, 1,5, 35-37). Polonius died a sudden death when he was stabbed through the tapestry by Hamlet. It was a slight misunderstanding, but according to Hamlet, after Polonius’ death, the plan wasn’t about to fail just yet. Hamlet thought that Claudius would be behind the tapestry, causing him to stab the king in his rightful place, but that didn’t go as planned. …show more content…

Ophelia was the daughter of polonius, the love interest of hamlet who was brutally torn up mentally throughout the novel. At the beginning of the novel all was well for her as well, her boyfriend was off at college and she was perfectly fine at home with her father. It was until her father took away a note from hamlet to her that things started going downhill. She was a weak person not like hamlet who when faced with injustice takes thing into his own hands to seek justice or revenge. She was a quite simple girl who had a gentler soul.
The ghost told Hamlet about how he was murdered by Claudius. The ghost told hamlet how he was going to get revenge. He wanted to torment Claudius and then kill him. From the very beginning of the drama, a ghost walks the parapet of Elsinore Castle in Denmark and asks for Hamlet for revenge. Upon hearing this information, Hamlet agrees to proceed with the request his father has made. This is the true beginning of Hamlet’s mental demise, because not only did he listen to a ghost, but he became willing to murder a family member, let alone his uncle.
