It is quite difficult to identify with the protagonist in Frankenstein because he comes across as quite cowardly and irresponsible, these are common traits one would not want to associate themselves with. It could be argued that Victor changes from an innocent young adult, curious about the ways of science into a guilt ridden man, constantly cautious about horrific creation.
