Outsider Essay The Outsiders by S.E Hinton was filled with many different characters with different personalities. One of the characters killed someone. Another one threatened to kill someone. Also, one of them potentially burnt a building down. Below, are some of the characters that were interesting. Darry is an outsider because he is mature, strong, and mean. In the beginning of the book Ponyboy stated that “Darry is six-foot-two, broad shouldered, and muscular”(pg. 6). That shows that he is very strong.
