According to the article, I can infer that both Brutus and Cassius were not ready to take control of the government after Caesar’s death. The one thing that we can get from the book is that after the assassination of Caesar Cassius had no idea what to do next. In addition, he also sent Cicero a letter asking for advice. From Cicero reply, it is understood that it was to let for Cassius and Brutus to gain control. Also, it can be understood that Cassius could have come up with the idea that Cicero gave him before it was too late. Finally, both Brutus and Cassius did not have a definitive plan on how to rule.
The letters that are exchanged between Caesar, Cassius, and Octavian to Cicero all have something in common. All the letters tells us that Cicero is in higher power, spokesman to the senate, and gave a lot of advice. As he is the spokesman to senate he can either endorse or denounce anyone. This power makes Cicero very important.
Cicero has a very low regard to Antony. We can see his hatred towards Antony as he opposed him in front of the senate and asked the senate to declare Antony as the enemy of the state. I think one of the main reasons for not liking him is because he was the heir of Caesar and supporter. The next thing is because Cicero was behind the assassin of

However, Cleopatra benefited more out of the relationships. One of the main things she gained is fame and power. After her marriage with Caesar she has a statue built as a reincarnation of Isis in Rome even though she was hated by the people. The second thing that she gained was from her marriage with Antony. In her marriage with Antony, she was able to get land territory grant and will of Antony. These benefited her by giving her more power and money. The one thing that I can think about that benefited Caesar and Antony is the access they got through her to go deep to Hellenistic rulers of Egypt and conquer
The foreign policies of the empire have long since been ingrained with the politics of the Roman empire before Cleopatra’s reign (117). Thus, it is difficult to determine policies and expeditions that were not influenced by Roman politics. Cleopatra’s rule was primarily focused on the reclamation of territories and the expansion of her empire. Rapid expansion of the Roman empire played into these territorial gains as well, introducing policies which maintained Roman connections through proxied and allied rulers (118). Cleopatra and Herod the Great being two of the most influential of these allied rulers.
In lines 15-22, Cassius was questioning Brutus of what they would do if Popillius was telling Caesar their plan. From the way Cassius spoke in the scene, I was able to understand Cassius' reason for questioning Brutus as he began to talk with a nervous tone, which indicates that he was unsure of what they would do. As the scene continues, Brutus told Cassious to stand firm because Popillius was not telling Caesar of their plan. I was able to understand this dialogue because in the film you can hear Brutus's command in his voice, which showed me he was sure of what he was doing and that nothing would go
This book didn’t just cover the lifespan of Cleopatra itself but also quite resourcefully shows the historical aspects of events that happened before and after Cleopatra’s lifetime. With Cleopatra being such central and well-known figure, not just back in her time but even now, she had a very strong impact on history herself and through her relationships with Caesar and Mark Anthony. Michael Grant went back as early as 323 BC to the death of Alexander the Great to explain the rise of the Ptolemaic Era through Ptolemy I and to show the proof of Cleopatra’s Hellenistic heritance. In detail he showed the hardships Caesar had to face while staying in Egypt with the Egyptian Queen but he also explained the happenings that lead to Caesar arriving
Strong alliances helped Cleopatra gain the control of Egypt and its people. Although her alliances had a hand in her personal life it still gave her the dominance most ruler
Julius Caesar was a politician, general, and dictator. He once said, “It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.” He was an incredible speaker of the time and was very well liked by most citizens. He brought a lot of change to Rome and was a very strong leader. Julius Gaius Caesar was born in Rome Italy, in 100 B.C., on July 13th.
Antony’s Speech Using Rhetorical Appeals In William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, after Caesar’s death, the Romans are conflicted about what should be done. After Brutus’ speech the Romans are ready to crown Brutus king and be on the conspirators’ side. Though Brutus then leaves the crowd while Antony delivers his speech, the crowd realizes what should be done of Caesar’s murder and Antony prevents the conspirators from getting away with the murder of Caesar.
Her administration indicated talented utilization of open correspondence and strategy. Cleopatra's most noteworthy achievement amid her time as ruler was to join a torn Kingdom, and enhance its economy. She achieved this by using her insight and political ability and manufacturing power partnerships with Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony. She fortified exchange with the Eastern countries to keep up autonomy from Rome.
Cleopatra’s Influence on the Roman Empire Cleopatra VII has become one of the most well-known ruler and Egyptian in era of the Roman Empire because of her suppose beauty, cunning personality and her influence on the Roman Republic which turned into an Empire shortly after her death. While she is not Roman citizen herself, her relations with Julius Caesar and later Mark Antony are what brought her influence of power into Roman society and expanded her own in Egypt. Just like any ruler in history she sought power which was not something easily done as a woman in that time, however primary sources such as Josephus and Cassius Dio often do not refer to her as a great ruler, but as a seductress
Brutus did not consider that Cassius the one the decieved him would want to come in power. When Caesar died Mark Anthony and Brutus each gave a speech about Julius Caesar. The difference between the funeral speeches for Julius Caesar is that Brutus added point and rational speech, while Mark Antony puts sentiment in his speech. But first lets talk about Brutus and what his speech was about. Brutus is a shy person, he is
The noblest Roman of all was Brutus for many reasons. In many cases Brutus would rather chose death over a life with no honor. He claimed all the traits honor; integrity, decency, morality, and rectitude. His decision to kill Caesar was not based on his own views or the views and beliefs of others he made his decision on which would be best for rome and for its people. Brutus was a gentle and honest man who killed caesar for the right reasons and not just so he would have a greater shot at becoming the king of rome.
The letters said they were from the people and said they don't want Caesar to become king. They tossed the letters in Brutus's window on the Ides of March to trick him. Cassius knew Brutus is good to the people so if he could trick Brutus into thinking the people wrote it he could get him to join. Though there are many reasons for Brutus to join the conspiracy there are many reasons why not to.
Cassius is often referred to as a villain in the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. A villain is a play or stories antagonist. Traits of a villain include manipulative and untrustworthy. Cassius was a known companion of Caesar’s that was an active part in the assassination (Gaius). First of all, Cassius manipulates Brutus and the rest of the conspirators into helping him assassinate Caesar.
Leadership is a key part in Julius Caesar because without it, many of the significant events in the play would not have occurred. Caesar, Brutus, Cassius, and Antony all play the role of a leader in the middle of all the confusion in Rome, however, some characters are careless and would not be good leaders. It is often seen that great leaders have great qualities that allow them to lead well, but also are able to fight through obstacles, while there are some leaders who lack those qualities and lead poorly. A poor leader would be Caesar because he is hungry for more power and only thinks of himself and not of others.
She was royal and foreign and the Romans hated her. Because many Romans hated her, many soldiers were not willing to fight for her (Dutton 145). Because of this Antony quickly acted and tried to win over the Roman masses and take control of Rome (Dutton 146). But, Antony and Cleopatra were defeated by “Octavian’s forces at Actium” (Kreis).
He was able to help her regain her kingdom and influence in the region and became her lover. But Caesar's support did not last long because of his
