Why Is It Important To Study Early College

Recently, UAEC caused me to have to reevaluate my time and study habits. Yes, I am a dedicated student who studies daily, but I recently learned that as an Early College Student, my everyday study habits aren’t disciplined enough. I am now being given additional assignments with higher expectations that require me to balance my schedule. Early College is something that requires self-motivation and dedication. While completing the 24- Hour Time Tracking Activity, I began examining my time usage as well as my study habits. I soon learned that I actually spend more time than I give myself credit for towards my academics. I also realized that my problem isn’t laziness, but rather inconsistency. Inconsistency and lack of knowing how to balance my time often result in a “burnout.” I have a tendency to focus more on quantity of assignments I can complete instead of the quality of my work. Adjusting my time is obviously one of the most important skills I need to know to be able to thrive in college. Some of the adjustments I utilize while working through UAEC 200 are balancing my schedule, not overwhelming myself, and focusing more on the quality of my work instead of the number of assignments I can complete.
