Cape Henry Light (New)
“Virginia Beach, Virginia”
Built: 1881
This still active light sits on the southern cape at the entrance to Chesapeake Bay about 350 feet southeast of the old tower. The octagonal pyramidal tower is 163 feet tall and has the upper and lower half of each face alternately black and white making it a distinctive day marker. A keeper’s dwelling and fog signal building are also part of the station.
