Fort Niagara Light

“Youngstown, New York”

Built: 1872

“This octagonal, gray limestone tower, which sits at the mouth of the Niagara River where it opens into Lake Ontario, was originally about 50 feet tall. In 1900 the buff colored brick addition raised the lantern 11 feet, putting the light 91 feet above lake level. The light is part of the Old Fort Niagara State Park.”
