Obrestad Light
“Hå, Norway”
Built: 1873
Automated: 1991
“Located along the southwest coast of Norway, this 16.5 m (54 ft) tower is attached to the keepers dwelling which is built of stone. The lens is third order and reaches 17.6 nautical miles out to sea. It is 39 m (128 ft) above sea level. There was much German troop activity at this site during World War II, with many bunkers, cannons and mines placed on the property. There is a museum in the building, with many pictures and drawings on the walls.”
