Glenn Twist was a membe r of the First Families of the TwinTerritories
and was also a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he fought a campaign of reform against corrupton and won a seat in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His written stories of the Cherokee are drawn from those he heard as a child from older family members.
