After World War 1, the 1920s was often referred to as the Roaring ‘20s. It was known as this because of the sustained economic prosperity during this time period. Consequently, with the economic prosperity came with major political, social, economic, technological, and cultural developments of the 1920s. The “Roaring Twenties” can be considered as a time of many advancements that helped shape the lives of Americans on a large scale.

For instance, one of the social developments in the 1920s was that people longed for a simpler life. An excerpt described, “People wanted an end to labor problems and racial strife, less immigration, conservative politics, a return to Christian values, and less government interference in their lives”. These were the type of developments U.S. politicians focused on after World War 1. Furthermore, other social developments that occurred during the 1920s was that many young Americans, both men and women, began to challenge the traditions of their parents and grandparents. For example, “Some young women began to experiment with new kinds of clothes. They no longer wore dresses that hid the shape of their bodies. Instead, they wore thinner dresses that uncovered part of their legs,”.
