1950’s Toys The 1950’s is an interesting time, but what I thought was the most interesting was the toys. The toys from the 50s where the start of all the toys we have today. Today we have many dolls, toy cars, and much more. In the 50s, everyone had the early versions of some of the toys we have today. So I am going to tell about interesting toys from the 1950s. Mr. Potato Head, he was made in 1952. Mr. Potato Head was the first toy to be advertised on television. For the first eight years of his existence, children had to use real potatoes provided by their parents. In 1960 was when Mr. Potato Head’s plastic body was made. This toy was similar to the Juggle Head toy from 1953. Play-Doh was invented by Joseph and Noah McVicker in 1955. It was an accidental creation, Play-Doh was originally a wall cleaner.
