1960s fashion was the decade of fashion that influenced today’s current trends the most.The 60s brought new and innovative styles to life.In addition to throwing away previous view of what the typical clothing was. The 1960s were a major turning point in fashion,because of the playful vibrant patterns,hippies and the clothing they expressed themselves in,and because pants and miniskirts changed the way people saw fashion.
The 1960s hippie fashion expressed feeling for many through eye catching and bright patterns. Hippies were often teenagers between the ages of 15-25 who were tired of the restrictions put on them by society and their conservative parents (Israel,Clark).Hippies, or freaks, as they often called themselves, also connected around the music of the time, a mixture of protest folk and rock (encyclopedia.com).Hippies weren't afraid of being judged or changing the rules they were all about how they could change previous views.Hippies were characterized by not only the clothing they wore but also the values of peace,love,freedom and carving the path for Americans
